Allright, let's turn it up a notch!
I'm starting to get the hang of it to post more content, and finally I have bought a microphone AND a new camera that supports a mic in.
Tested it at home (didn't went for a ride yet), and the sound quality is "amayzin", well yeah, I'm not accustomed to nice quality gear.

My setup:
- HJC IS-MAX 2
- Sony HDR-AS300R
- Philips LFH 91740 microphone
- Sena 3S (for music and phonecalls, but I never get calls when I ride :)

I have used a piece of plastic to mount the mic to the side of the flip up helmet, because I don't have any other place to put the mic.
When I put it in front of my mouth, my chin and boom mic of the Sena hits the mic.
I also closed one side of the stereo mic off because it is in line with the wind, and it sucks to get wind noise over my voice. I also put a DIY wind muffler on the mic :)

Here are some pictures:

I still haven't found a way to still keep the USB and HDMI port water/splashproof when the mic is plugged in. Maybe some poster putty?

My previous setup was a Sony AZ-1VR and a Tascam DR-05.

What you waiting for? Post your setup! :D

Update! I've ridden with this setup and it SUX!!
There's an ridiculous amount of wind noise, even with a deadcat (I plugged the other microphone hole), and now I've put a deadcat around the plugged microphone hole too.
I hope this one works out better :)
I also got a new helmet because the other one has a loose visor gasket.

@SighBored: Nice setup :) The custom V-shaped adapter looks a lot better than extending a gopro mount. Where did you put your mic? right behind the chin bar, or on the side inside your helmet?

It might be the helmet, flip-up may be noisier? Not too sure. My huge microphone is the sponge thingy you can see right below the pointy bit of the breath guard in the picture.

I've ridden it with this setup, and it's a bit better when I positioned the mic a bit higher up inside the helmet, but there's still a lot of wind noise. Now I've put back the chin guard (that flap) and now I hope the wind noise is gone.

I'm currently struggling to get the balance point between removing wind noise from the underneath of my helmet and removing the whistle I get positioning it higher. I also seem to talk too loudly to have it in front of my mouth so it has to be off slightly to the side.

Does your helmet come with chin curtain? Could try that. Else, maybe stuff the microphone behind the sponge liner, or a thicker microphone cover (dead cat).

@SighBored Yes it did come with a chin curtain :) Took it out because I thought the mic holder won't fit when in fact it does fit just right. Tomorrow I'm going for a small ride to test the mic :)

It doesn't unfortunately. I do already have a deadcat fitted but will try experimenting further :)

All right! Sound is finally good, but maybe I should remove the mic blocking tape to see if it improves any more, because now it only has sound coming from the left side.

Does anyone have a external battery pack? Where do you hid it?

My backpack has a pocket on the shoulder strap, so I would just put the battery pack in the pocket and run the cable up to my camera. Works okay.

Chaseontwowheels on YouTube used JB Weld (adhesive) to mount a battery pack onto a GoPro quick release clip, and then stuck a curved mount onto his helmet. Then he just slides the whole battery pack into the GoPro mount and it stays on his helmet. I thought it was pretty ingenious, but I just wouldn't want that much stuff hanging off my helmet, so into the pocket it goes.

Cam: Sony HDR AS20 or something like that.

Microphone: My mic is just a cheap mic off of Amazon for like $7. It does great except for highway speeds. As long as it's not too windy your can still hear what I'm saying, it just maxes out too much.

Helmet: Speed & Strength SS1100. I love it! It does get very hot though, not ventilated very well.

I like my setup.

My mic choice is helped out a lot by my mount, which has straps that cover the mics. Helping wind noise a bit. It also helps to keep the mic pushed up close to the visor, even though my mount keeps it open a crack.

Just to update,

My setup is the same, but I've added a deadkitten, which fits perfectly around my entire microphone.

It's pretty fantastic, I can even ride around with my visor open at reasonable speeds with little enough wind noise that it's still very listenable.
