I used to ride all year round. I've encountered snow, hit black ice a few times which scared the sh!t out of me. One time I slid down a steep hill on ice almost onto a highway, a few more feet and I would have to have bailed and the bike would have been destroyed. The one time I went down was in Jan, no more winter riding for me.

At least you tried it and realised it was a mistake and do not do it anymore.

If the weather is bad enough for you to not ride then so be it! Thanks for voting :p

I certainly try to ride all year, my first year riding I was so into that made every excuse to get a ride in.
Mostly though to myself "How am I going to get experience riding in (insert weather condition) if I don't get out and do it?"
This year I found myself riding often enough that I didnt need to winterize the bike but never in the snow.
All it took was one patch of black ice on a clear day for me to get the hint.

In Oregon we have a saying "If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride!". So, I ride year round, just less frequent in the winter.

Hi guys,

I'm generally out on the bike all year round. I'll ride in all weathers and generally the only time I won't go out is if it is ICE or SNOW first thing in the morning... I will stay clear until the roads have been carved a little bit by cars and that is more primarily for the mongs that are on the road in cages. (In the UK the chances of the weather like this is rare).

So was just wondering how often you ride? Are you just a summer rider or do you ride all year round just avoiding the really bad weather or what? Keen to know :)
I used to buy not with my new bike. Becuase here in ct they dumb alot of liquid salt and it stays on the road till they do street cleaning in the spring it makes cars and trucks rust out in 2 years . Why most people buy the cars that have little metal . I could see it eating the chain right up. So that's why I picked no. But where

I started riding recreationally in October and have gone out on average 1-2 times per week consistently through the shitty winter we've just had. Feels great now the sun has started to come out, I realise riding is a lot more fun when you aren't freezing your arse off

Enjoy your ride then. I do love riding all the time. Luckily there is no 4 season here..

I try to get all 3 bikes out at least once a month so they can get some exercise.
They all have battery tender connections so they stay fully charged during the cold Ohio months.
