So What Lid Are You Wearing?

Wow, so few Arai (Arais?) ..... mmmmm what's the plural for Arai? Got three or four, one unused now as it's ancient, an original RX7RR custom painted by Dream Machine in the UK back in 1993 I reckon. Now you get to know my real name!

I currently wear an Agv corsa-r. Always stuck with agv as I’ve had a few crashes and my coconut is still intact

Me and the gf’s decommissioned crashed helmets we had quite an embarrassing let’s show off / racer kind of stage... she loves her hjc’s

I have a Simpson, it is quite old now, and feels heavy and cheap and noisy. Looks cool AF though. Am sure their newer lids are better quality (I hope)

Right now I'm sporting the Biltwell Lanesplitter in bronze metallic with a gold lens. Took like 2-3 weeks to break in, it was real tight around my jaw but its just snug enough to be comfortable now. I will say for motovlogging...its probably the best, there's 3 vents right in the mouth area that are not closable. You pick up alot of engine noise but surprisingly not alot of wind. So far I'm pretty happy with it for commuting.

I have been thinking about getting one of these. I currently have the Gringo 2 DOT. I am also looking at the new Gringo S ECE lids. Biltwell's fit my head so much better than other brands.

I have a modular HJC IS that was great till I got my Shoei RF1200. Now everytime I put the HJC on I end up wishing it was the RF or I go back and swap it (don't wear very often for these reasons). The comfort in the Shoei is unmatched by the HJC. If you turn your head it doesn't want to rip off, it is a much tighter fit in the cheeks, and the wind is quieter as it slips right on by. It also has much better venting.

I've always worn AGV helmets since my first Max Biaggi rep in '95. Current one is an AGV K3 SV 'Groovy', nice and bright, quite light & comfy. Could do with being a bit quieter but I always wear ear plugs so hey -ho.
