So What Lid Are You Wearing?

Wind noise IRL? Or for motovlogging? Or both?

I mean you can hear the wind in my motovlogs, but it's not overwhelming.

There's really no such thing as a quiet helmet, at highway speeds, sustained riding without protection can result in hearing loss.

That said. At 100km/h. I'm going to get wind noise in my video, which I can accept...the wind is part of riding, but my voice still comes through nicely. I think it's more a product of the device/micropone combination.

As in real life scenarios. Like i said, I never tried HJC... when i know im going on the motoway i'll wear protection for sure!

As far as I know, HJC offer the least expensive SNELL certified helmets you can get.

I can't really speak about how loud/quite they are. I get wind noise and on longer rides, I always wear ear protection.

Thats fair enough bud, i usually buy based on SHARP rating and quietness... hence i wear a Schuberth i guess lol

Shark S900 Foret
But will be changing it soon or least getting an addition....

Any recommendations???

I have a Scorpion Exo T510. The internal sun visor is great especially cause I ride a lot at sunset. Good vents. Big upgrade over my Hawk helmet I used for the 1st 2 years.

HJC IS-17 Matte Black

First lid.

Didn't realise that it's at the budget end of the market until I'd owned it for a while, had to make a snap purchase for first motorcycle lesson the following day.

Still, £150 for a lid with built-in shade, decent vents, removable padding (for cleaning), bundled pinlock, traffic position on visor ratchet, double-d fastener, ... and other stuff probably; I think I got very lucky with this purchase.

I've put in a mic for external Drift cam, and mic plus speakers fora Sena 20S. Positioning was easy and seemed obvious, like the lid was designed to have them inserted.

Bought Kitty the same lid, and carried out the same mic/speaker setup.

As long as it passes rigorous testing, i've actually seen some decent "budget" helmets and have been surprised at the features they have. I mean some of them had features that a £500 lid didnt!

I have a Harley davidson Qualifier Fulton. which is in fact a Bell helmet but at a cheaper price...because it doesnt say Bell on it.
I also have a open face Harley Helmet in black. which is a Bell 500. Which at the time of buying it was £50 less to buy it badges Harley than Bell.

AGV K3SV Tartaruga. First Helmet, I really love the colours on it and the drop down sun visor, also the sharp angles look cool and the helmet is very comfortable to wear.

I have every color in my size of the Joe Rocket R1000X line up. Always loved rocket gear and when they stopped with the helmets and started to Clearance them I jumped on the opportunity to get a whole new line up of lids. Very comfortable and room for my glasses. Not to heavy.

MT Helmets - Binomy

Quite noisy, but 5 stars in sharp, by the way, since you´re from uk what´s your opinion about sharp tests?

Cause here in Mexico sharp tests are deified

Scorpion EXO AT950. It has a peak to block early morning sun which doesn't catch air. Peak can be removed leaving a good looking lid. Inside drop down visor, modular and goot venting. Can be used with small goggles. Far cheaper the the Schuberth...
