Ozarks Meetup 2013

She wanted the bigger displacement motor for easier highway travel.

I'm thinking the Ninja300 would be just as good on the highway as the Er6. Could be wrong though. LJ has rode the 300, so she would know.

It's "as good," but it doesn't have the same power. It's like a car-- sure, it'll cruise in low, smooth RPMs... but you have no pull to get out of sticky situation, or for any fun factor. It's got great mid-range, but no top end.

The 650 is much easier on the highway than any smaller cc bike. It's effortless on the motor and you've got plenty left. For what I bought the ER-6n for (commuting and touring), it's fantastic. Super comfortable, great fuel economy, plenty of power. It's just NOT a track/twisties bike. The suspension is too... "budget." Again, great for long highway trips and around-town commuting, but not for aggressive or spirited riding.

Wow, I haven't posted a video on youtube in weeks now. I'm slowly giving up on the human race and this is turning into one of the more stressful work years for me yet. I imagine by the time this vacation comes around I'll be literally tearing everyone's hair out so I think it will be a well earned and well needed vacation.

I'm sad to hear Mr. Matt won't be making it as I really enjoyed his company and hospitality last I saw him (again Matt, LJ and I really appreciate it) but congrats!! Nonetheless I won't let that stop me... I'll check with my manager tomorrow as the vacation calendar is now open and I'm going to go ahead and reserve myself the Big Pimp King VIP Suite.

Which bike will I bring? The KTM 'tard wheelie ripping offroad monster with a mean streak that constantly begs to be abused and beaten in public, or the gentle natured 1400cc street slayer that has already netted me a speeding ticket for "just cruising" home from STL... hmmmm, choices choices.

P.S. I now have 28% more fuel capacity in the tard... 2.9gal * 50mpg (55-60 is realistic but 50 is safe) = range of 140-170. I shouldn't be the guy making us puke up cash at every little 2 bit gas station through the ozarks.

I'm in but I'm bringing a stopwatch. If the toilet won't flush in under 17 seconds then I'm leaving immediately!

I was in a hotel you'd like this past week. Pressurized toilets. When you flush you hear a loud thunk and the bowl is completely emptied in about 2 seconds.

I'm not sure how I should feel knowing there are real people out there in the world that flush a toilet and then think of me....

LMAO! Never really thought of it like that, it is a little disturbing isn't it?

I watched the series of videos that one of the guys that went posted up for this a few weeks ago. Oh how I want to attend! ahh

Vacation approved. I will be in attendance on the KTM 625 SMC though I will very likely be running street legal dimpled slicks instead of semi offroad tires... now to get that hotel room reserved....

Gotta love that Dodge's 625cc motard gets 10mpg better than my 330cc motard... even though both are carb'ed and his puts down twice the HP at the wheel than mine. I *REALLY* need to fix that exhaust leak and get my jetting fixed... lol

My vacation was also officially approved!

Just booked my reservation with the Motovlog group. The guys english is less than perfect, so I'm hoping the group rooms will be on the wing that was mentioned before, but they're guaranteed to be on the pool side of the hotel. He could not specify a price, their computer is down for some reason, but he did verify a $10 motorcycle discount and affirmed that the price should be about $40-50. Google is claiming $48 a night, so I'm thinking the reservation will be for $38 plus taxes. Provided things go as planned I'm in. Only hiccup will be work, but it's usually not too hard to get a long weekend off with a month or two notice.

IF the discount holds up, I'm a definite but still like a roomy. More $ for fuel 8-)

He said they'd email me the information tonight. I'll post up here whatever I get whenever I get it.

I'm calling this morning to make my reservation and I'm going to request a room with double beds. Brian you are welcome to split the cost of a room with me if you would like but don't feel obligated. If you don't then I'm sure someone else will have the need. Once I have a confirmed roomie I will update this thread.

Room taken by Brian as seen above. Reservation made for the awesome room, naturally, since they hold it just for me. ;-)

Thanks for organizing this Trinith... much obliged!

For those who don't know, or don't remember, Clarksville is in a dry county. There's several dry counties in Arkansas, so you'd be well served to buy your beer well before getting there. It wouldn't be unwise to just buy it before you even leave for the trip. If you can't transport it I may be willing to take paypal orders for beer and bringing it in the truck, provided I don't end up riding to the meet.
