Alright man, I just got my first action camera and I'm getting seriously demotivated already. The camera that I am using is a Vikeepro 4k Action Camera. It is not a real GoPro, but the camera is not the problem. The videos themselves are recorded in 1080p 60fps, and they look absolutely stunning in their raw form. The stock footage is .MOV format with a bitrate of roughly 35k. I edit/render videos with Sony Vegas 13 Pro.
I record my videos, transfer them to my computer. They look amazing, extremely clear and smooth. Now I import them into Sony Vegas. I've tried rendering my video with a ridiculous amount of settings, and I never receive a better result. Once it is uploaded to YouTube, it gets blocky and full of artifacts and it drives me INSANE.
I have tried uploading in MP4, AVI, and MOV formats, no change. I've tried variable and constant bit rate, 2 pass encoding, matching bitrate to source, changing profiles in vegas from main to high, compressing with handbrake, using deblock and deinterlace. No matter what I do, I can never get my video to stop showing these pixelated artifacts. I've tried rendering in 1440p and 4k for a higher bitrate, no change. I just can't figure it out.
Here is a prime example of the blocky artifacts that occur: ( video link blocked. I can email an example)
You can see that the road becomes extremely pixelated right after the video starts. I can upload screenshots of the same exact video time on my local files, I can show you my Vegas settings that I have copied from over ten different online articles to get a better result. Please explain this to me.
I need your help. My video quality makes me not want to upload and that is an extremely shitty feeling.
