Have A Mac But Wanna Graduate From Imovie

Also, when dragging the clips down to the time line you can hold shift or cmd or alt (can't remember which) to swap between insert and overwrite.

Also, on the left of the time line there are highlights on the V and A tracks. Moving those highlights selects the target track for the shortcut commands, like insert or paste.

Sorry I missed your question!

On the playback, look at the bottom of the program window where your time line plays. There is a pull down with a fraction displayed. It's probably at 1/2. Change it to get more playback.

That's the real time preview quality setting. Set it to like 1/4 and it will look a little grainy when playing but will play longer.
Is no problem i figured it out pretty fast. i have changed it to 1/4 and it still does it. it won't let me change it to 1/8 or anything is there a way to change that?

Look in the preferences under memory. You can select the amount if ram to dedicate to the program. You can also select optimization between performance and memory. Try adjusting those to see us it helps. Also close other running applications.

So anyone who reads this i would highly recommend more then 4gb of ram to run this program. i tried to make the ram higher but it won't go past 2.5gb being my system needs 1.5. i adjusted from performance to memory and nothing helped. I'm gonna look at getting new ram tomorrow i was looking at it before.

I think I only have 6 but am looking to upgrade. I've got loads of VRAM and a pretty heafty processor and video card though.

I have no idea what any of that is. I know about anything with a engine and i mean anything but don't know shit about pretty much anything else lmao. Engines are all somewhat the same besides turbines but they are not very had.

Pretty much you definitely need more ram to properly run the program. 8gb should be a good amount. Video cards have there own processor or the engine of the card. It helps display higher resolution programs, videos and games without pulling ram and processor power from your main computer. This all helps your computer work smoother, faster and more proficient when you are working with big editing programs and such. I think I got most of that right

Is the ram stick i can get off eBay for my macbook for $40 the same as the ones from best buy for $140? I understand they are not the same brand but is there a reason to spend the extra $100?

I'm actually not to familiar with macs but I stay away from tech on ebay. Most are from China and suck unfortunately

In the US, Newegg is a good place. EBay is fine if you get a decent brand. Corsair, Kingston, GSkill, etc.

Different computers take different RAM specs so be sure you are getting the right RAM for your specific MacBook.

Your manual should tell you how many expansion slots there are, the max RAM and the RAM spec. Or a Google search should reveal it easily.

I looked
