Hi guys,

I'm generally out on the bike all year round. I'll ride in all weathers and generally the only time I won't go out is if it is ICE or SNOW first thing in the morning... I will stay clear until the roads have been carved a little bit by cars and that is more primarily for the mongs that are on the road in cages. (In the UK the chances of the weather like this is rare).

So was just wondering how often you ride? Are you just a summer rider or do you ride all year round just avoiding the really bad weather or what? Keen to know :)

I can't vote because my option is not up there.

I ride as close to year round as I can. But...and huge but...just like you, never in ice. The problem here, is that with ice, comes salt, and with salt comes rusty EVERYTHING.

Once the roads ice up, that's generally when I hang up my gear for the year, for the bike's sake.

I will ride unti then though, cold or not.

I'd say i ride as close to year round as possible (90%)
The only cases i do not are when there are currently heavy rains or predicted.

My Guzzi has no functional mudguards/fenders so only comes out when it is dry. I used to ride all year round and still keep my bikes legal all year so I can get out on them should I wish but as I ride purely for fun I see no value in intentionally getting cold and wet currently.

I don't even have a car so bike is my only choice. It doesn't get THAT cold around here, but I often ride in low 40sF/10C and below for a few months. Makes the beard grow thicker!

Bloody hate the salt!!!
Rinsing my bike like mad after every ride does get a bit annoying....

Good weather only for me. I have been caught in a few showers but not enjoyable.
I sometimes go out on a clear Winter day but that's few and far between.
...and I don't give a **** what 'all year riders' think :p

I see what you mean though ED... some people don't find it enjoyable.. I love it except you can't throw it about in corners as much in the wet...

All year for the most part, but like many of the posters I won't ride in freezing weather, when there's ice or snow on the ground, and especially salt. Salt's the worst! There may be a 1-3 week hiatus during the height of winter, then I'm back on the road. Keep in mind there are other hazards other then ice. Frozen manhole covers, construction steel plates, and areas that are constantly in shadow can cause a crash if one's not careful.

We should never forget simply having cold tires can be dangerous enough.

I would, but I'd be better off with a snowmobile for 4 months of the year.

If that's the case...we have to set you up a GoFundMe for one of these:
