Do You Nod?

Do you nod to other bikers?

I wave or nod depending if my hands or general attention is free.
I made a video that ends with me talking about it because as I was recording I nodded to another biker who did not nod or wave back. The video is called "Stabilizing Rear Brake & Why I Wave" or something like that.

The short answer, without forcing you to watching the video, is that I wave or nod for myself.
I want to say "hey, hi, hello. Ride safe and keep the rubber side down." or something. If they do not wave back, that's on them.
I just assume they didn't see me or did not want to wave. So what? A judgment or not, it's their expression, not a fact or anything to do with me. That's fine.

I was not obligated to wave and they are not obligated to wave either. I wave because I want to, not because I expect anything in return.
I try not to take the actions or lack of actions of others personally. Putting one's happiness in the hands of others is foolish.
They are living their life; I'm living mine. It's all good.

I nod to all bikers, I think it more of a courtesy thing now, if people don't want to do it then that's up to them.

I don't initiate the greeting but if someone waves I will make every attempt to wave or atleast head nod

I chose some but not all because I normally wave. Unless it seems unsafe to do, I always wave.

Up here in Toronto I find that not many people nod or wave anymore. When I was just learning to ride (last year) everyone did. But this season I find I'm waving to myself...a lot....lol, maybe it's me.

A wave is what's typically done around here. Some people nod but the majority wave, which is just pretty much holding your hand out or something
We drive on the left here, so guess the wave is looked down on because your hands off the gas and brake

Always nod, wave, salute so do most riders in Ireland except guys on the Harleys they just wave at each other mostly which is amusing.

any reason for the wave instead of a nod?

In that case, lock the cruise control and give a double fisted salute.

I nod as a courtesy, but it depends now. From experience most cruiser riders won't nod and I'm adamant it's because their too busy concentrating with having a stick up their arse.

Only when out of the city (for some reason it seems it stops as soon as you get within the ring road), and not to HD and moped riders. The former are too busy smelling their own farts and the latter don't ride mopeds for the fun of it (unless they're thieves).
