Do You Nod?

Unless I'm riding hard and in a technical corner I acknowledge all riders, I usually do it by throwing rocks. If I can't throw rocks then I nod or just lift my hand of the bars.

What I'm thinking is in the UK why don't we do a different greeting apart from the nod to identify Motovloggers? A comment has since been made on the video about a salut which I think is an awesome idea. What are your thoughts to that?

I think that's a cool idea. Sort of a motovlogger salute. I don't see a lot of Americans do the leg out salute. Could work. A military-type salute might work, too. According to my drill sergeants in the Army, the military hand salute originated with knights raising their visors to show their faces whenever they crossed paths. Seems like it would translate well to bikes. We'd just have to do it left-handed, unless we were slowing down.

Since there are like 9 million riders in my city (Jakarta, and yes the number is based on a statistic), so I only nod / honk to other vespa or BMW users.

I do the whole "arm down at a 45 degree angle" type of deal to nearly everyone, including the 3 wheelers (reason being a lot of the 3-wheel guys are old-school 2 wheelers who just can't hold up 2 wheels anymore). Only ones I don't salute are people on scooters/Ruckuses, just because I assume they wouldn't know what it meant anyway. If they salute, I salute back
