Cutting out all the footage is not easy, you want to share the ride but theres to much material, doing part 2 and 3 is a option if your first one garners any interest for some reason none of my part 2 videos do as well as part 1 I have a hard time keeping my motovlogs under 15 mins.

I kind of hate myself for saying this, because it sounds cliche, and I'm pretty sure that twat who wrote The 7 Skills of Highly Effective people said it, but... "Begin with the end in mind."

What is the goal of your vlog?

  • Are you just trying to make a video of your ride?
    • Do whatever you want
  • Are you trying to entertain your visitors?
    • Follow the traditional three part narrative:
      • Tell them what you're gonna do/tell them/show them
      • Create conflict (obstacle, challenge, dilemma, whatever)
      • Do the thing / tell the thing / show them the thing
      • Tell them what you just did/said/showed
  • Are you trying to inform your visitors?
    • Educate them efficiently
      • "Make haste, slowly"
      • Explain, give additional detail, but watch it three times and cut out whatever is unnecessary after three cuts.
Of course, I've only made 4 motovlogs, so what do I know haha

i prefer to have a topic (By word) and i will try to expand from there. but as a new in motovlogging and got few videos uploaded, still not smooth enough to caught some attentions. maybe ill try to ride along with the trends in youtube? or maybe not. i will figure it out along the way.

The whole game is a learning curve. I do suggest you vlog about things you enjoy and are interested in (although try to keep the motovlogs about motovlogging down as they will only interest other motovloggers). You should soon be able to share some of your content on here, I look forward to seeing what you get up to once you reach the threshold! :)

It depends,

I might want to give my thoughts on a topic but I can't do that without any knowledge. Some research is needed to make it interesting. Afterwall, why should I put the effort in to watch someone who isn't putting effort.

I like to have at least one main subject I would talk about and the rest is what I encounter during the ride.
Best not to force your content.
One advice I did take away is that its good to make some videos with a brand new scenery.

That is an awesome tip mate, riding the same routes over and over will get monotonous for regular viewers. Is something I really need to work on this year! :)

I try to have a new topic for every video, and something that has really helped me in choosing a topic is separating my videos into playlists.

the topic doesn't necessarily have to be super crazy either, for example probably my favourite video I have made to date is me going on a mission to buy new boots lol

I try to always have at least a rough idea of the topic I want to talk about in my vlogs.

Of course, sometimes it winds up completely off-topic. My last one wound up being a ten-minute rant about needing to overhaul traffic laws and enforcement, when my intended topic was about remembering that everyone is the hero in their own narrative.

At least that way, if I don't take a wild left turn and ramble about some random topic for half an hour, I can still have something worth recording. Nobody wants to watch me ride around Rednecktopia and yell at crappy drivers. That's already a saturated market.
