What Type Of Gas Do Ya'll Use?

87 as this is what is recommended for my bike. I actually used a higher octane for a while but the bike started running funny.

87 is recommended for my bike so thats what i run. The ethanol sucks so much I run seafoam to help my carbs out. About every third tank I'll put some seafoam in. It works so good for my bike I've started doing it to my truck and now its running a lot better. Magic stuff.

Here we have 95 and 98. I use 95, and that's more than enough. Higher octanes are necessary only if your engine has a really high compression ratio, to avoid detonation. Look at your bike specs and the user manual. Most of the times it's completely unnecessary to use those higher octane (and more expensive) gas, since our engine won't ever detonate. You may notice smoother explosions, but that's not really better (nor worse) for the engine.

Compression ratio examples:

Kawasaki Ninja H2: 8.5:1 (TURBO rules!)
Honda Grom 125: 9.3:1
Honda CBF 500: 10.5:1
Honda CBR 1000 RR: 12.2:1
Suzuki Hayabusa GSXR 1300: 12.5:1
Yamaha YZF R6R: 13.1:1 (600cc > 127 HP... :O)

Maybe I'd use 98 with that R6R or other reaaally "squeezed" engines. But the user manual recommends 95, so...

PS: Trust me, I am an engineer.

93 Octane Shell V-Power, which is about 98 in European ratings, or so I'm told. I'm looking for ethanol free gas in my area, too. Maybe the marina.

I use 87 in my FZR, since it is the recommended octane. I'm going to give Seafoam a try soon too because I know my carbs aren't liking the ethanol.

For my TT500 flat track bike (bored out to a 540) I use 114 octane leaded gas.

For my YZ450f flat track bike (bored out to a 480) I use a 1:1 mix of 92 octane pump gas and 114 octane leaded gas.

Shell V-Power, 93 octane. I'll also add fuel farkles: the tiniest dash of TCW3 oil, and about half an ounce of Berryman B-12 to every fill.

My Street Triple is 12.65:1 but premium fuel is still not worth it.

I use the tears of Unicorns. It's magical... well that and 93 at whatever the closest station is when my yellow light comes on.

I've recently switched to Shell V-Power Nitro plus on my 990 Superduke R...kinda feeling I'm getting better mileage and the bike feels smoother. Could be placebo. But my tank is made of plastic so I try and stay away from ethanol since it causes expansion :/

Here in the netherlands I use lead free fuel.. the standard here comes with 95 octane. sometimes I use the 98 version (there is no difference actually in the octane volume)

I just use 100% regular in my 87 shadow. It can run the 10% ethanol crap but it doesn't like it so I normally run STP additive with it. I haven't tried any higher octanes though.

I try to use the highest octane available at the station.
usually 93

I hear 87 is ok. but its pretty cheap right now for the premium stuff.
