What Have You Done To Your Bike Today?

Forgot to post this yesterday when I did it, but my bike is now sporting a new screen:

Today I went for a ride with my Dad for breakfast.

Gave my baby a well deserved clean after the crap weather this week after a brief dry spell turned the kinda-dusty roads into a mud factory. Gave her a nice lube up and cleaned her break discs+calipers superficially with some spray on degreaser. Took a time lapse video of it too :) Going to put a vid up of it later on me 'tube

I had planned on changing my brake lines, pads and calipers today but the rain put paid to that as I don't have a garage so have to work on the drive.

Ah well whatever nevermind.

I undented/unbent my rim, threw on a new set of Pilot Road 2's, and balanced the tires with a set of Dynabeads. :) I'm feeling pretty good.

Now I need some touch-up paint.

This thread is asking what you DID with your bike...not what you DIDN'T do. :P

Today I did Cheesecakes tail tidy mod on my Hornet :) Only difference was that due to my numberplate I didn't need to fit a back plate behind the original metal bracket. I spent hours and hours getting rid of as much corrosion as possible with a wire brush wheel on a drill before painting it silver, this was the only colour of suitable paint we had and I think it looks alright. Might re-spray black sometime.

I also trimmed my standard numberplate, keeping it well within legal border requirements (must have 11mm from any letter) It had enough space easily for 4x2 text before so as it only had to be a 3x2 I cut it down... I was tempted to fit the one shown in the picture (came with my bike) but It's not legal.

The motivation to do this today was due to planning on heading over to Farnborough tomorrow and having a dodgy indicator, these Oxford ones are so much brighter which has justified their extortionate cost (only £18 but that's a lot for what they are, cheapest my local shop had). Anyway, take a look - I also replaced my hugger with a standard chainguard I bought off somebody because the hugger kept touching my tire in corners.

I took my bike out for a spin around the block, and then I woke up and realized I was still in bed. Man, can’t wait until I get one, I’ve been having the twitch for awhile now!

what bike do you have now, toast? (a beautiful one is my first choice, but more precisely)

I'm glad you asked. :) A 2009 Triumph Street Triple. A freaking awesome machine.
