Whoa, whoa, more than 2hrs to change a tire? It should take maybe an hour and a half max (can't say i'm not guilty of it, but I was also changing it in 25*f temps)! Practicing helps, but the proper tools, like nice tires spoons and tons of lubrication is even better. Leave the tire in the sun or warm it up inside so it's pliable, too.
Lots of good videos on how to do it, maybe i'll make one for the everyday guy. I don't use any special tire changers. A bucket, nice spoons and plenty of muscle.
I worked on my bark busters for my handlebars today. Took them in to work, used one of our metal benders and custom shaped them for my style of bars.
The tires were 6 years old and I didn't have the proper tools...probably not the proper technique either. I've done it a couple times, neither was easier than the other. I found someone in town who does it all the time for his track bikes and would only charge me like $15 for both.
