What Have You Done To Your Bike Today?

I crashed it into a car.
Poor baby bike, I feel like complete shit for not being able to judge better and take proper care of my motorcycle.
I was riding like an ass lately and something like this was sure to happen.
Wow, Sorry to hear that. Hope you get to ride again. I have learned the hard way as well when it comes to judge better. Maybe that is why I do not go riding without my gear on all the time now, plus I do not trust people out on the road at all and have situational awareness at all times when riding. To me, riding is like when I was on the flight deck during flight operations. I have to look out for the next person and plan accordingly since most of the excuses a cager gives is "I did not see him" after they cause an accident. To me, it is better this way. Too many people out there in cages that do not pay attention at all out on the streets. The cell phone is something most people have, and then when they put it next to their ear while driving, their intelligence in driving and situational awareness drops about 70-80%, at least in this state. LOL
I had my first ride tonight on my motorcycle, and aside from getting second glances from cars, it really helped me to have all my gear on, and was an enjoyable ride to and from work.

I fingered my exhaust pipe profusely whilst trying to get it off.

NOTE: All innuendo intended.

A picture might be a good idea!

I just put the "comfort" seat on the Panigale. Comfort is definitely relative! Now tomorrow, I will have a better story as I pick up the 03 VRod from the dealer with new wheels, tires, sprocket, calipers. All this is part of the restoration. I got the bike with 6K original miles but she had been sitting outside for a good part of her life. I am doing some work myself and some with the dealer. She's a 100th anniversary model so I really want her to shine again. Will post some pics.

I fitted some new stainless downpipes to the Fazer. Looking pretty nice!

I'm really sorry to hear that, glad you're okay :)

Yeah comfort as far as a Panigale goes...definitely relative! Sounds great about the VRod. Love to see bike getting new goodies and getting restored. The bike I have now is 13 years old and needs a little bit of restoring itself, the carbs need a little cleaning and tuning as well.

So I just took the Panigale out for the first time with the "comfort" seat. I think someone in Marketing needs to be fired. That seat may be softer, but it:

1) Raises the seat high. I am 5' 11" and with the comfort seat I am now on tip toes when stopped
2) With the rise in high the seat to bar ratio changed slightly. This put more pressure on my hands and back - ouch!
3) And the fuel light came on (well, I can't blame that on the seat, but damn, I've only ridden 80 miles!)

I got home and switched back to the standard seat.

One other thing - and not a mod - but I took it out of WET mode for the first time today. I wanted a little while to get used to it. So I put it into SPORT mode and - holy crap, hold on! Wow! I can't imagine what RACE mode feels like!

^ Ah, I'm 5'8" and I'm always on my tip-toes on my Suzuki - strengthens the muscles around the ankle :p .....

Yup, ankles are definitely getting a workout. But in other news, getting back on a sport bike after years of cruisers - it doesn't hurt the old bod! Excellent!

So disappointment today. Stopped by the HD dealer and half of the bike was done (front wheel). They forgot to order some spacer or something for the front calipers. Also, they were one caliper short. I guess no one told them the front has two. So, can't pick it up this weekend. Oh well.

But, the front wheel did look great - damn, should have taken a pic.

pulled the tank off
ripped out the spark plugs,
Stabbed her in the heart and stole her blackend blood.

then replaced it all with shiny new shit. Old tank went back. You cant be to nice, or they expects it

Finally got the 03 VRod back today with: New CostalMoto wheels, pulley, brake disks, HD calipers and assorted other bits. The new wheels totally got rid of the dreaded wheel shake common to HD bikes with solid wheels, it's like riding a different bike!.

Also, all of my bikes are now back home!
