What Have You Done To Your Bike Today?

Just paid (way too much...) to have a pair of brand spankin new Pilot Road 3's installed. AWESOME tire. Feels good to have fresh rubber on there too. The old PR2s were balding and starting to square off a bit. :)

I wish I had paid someone to properly install the tires on my rims...I freaking jacked up my paint haha. Oh well...matches the bikes character. :P Can't wait to invest in a proper tire changer one day. Would be sweet to do everything in my garage myself!

Superglued the break light cover on after it fell off in the week. Didn't notice until I was about to set off for work on Friday morning. Fortunately, it was where I park at work! Will see if it's going to hold tomorrow...

I finally got round to changing my brake lines from the OEM to Hel lines (I've had them around 2 months :D).

This was the first time I've ever done brake lines, or bled a brake system, and it took me a little longer than I expected but I did stop regularly to check YouTube videos of people bleeding their lines.

I also put in new pads, some EBC black organic ones, which was probably a little mistake as the whole braking system feels different now and I've no idea if it's the Hel lines, the pads or a combination of both. Don't get me wrong everything works but it does feel a little weird. I'll get used to it.

I just got back from a little ride, taking in all speed limits, and am still in one piece so alls good.

Also just had my first biker at the side of the road stop to see if all OK and before I could come to a stop he gave me the thumbs up and waved me on.

I'm glad I did it myself and not pay someone to do it as these things are relatively simple. I think the Haynes manual marks them as harder than they are to weed out people who are not confident working on parts of the bike that are bloody crucial. 3 spanner not 4 Haynes.

Oh and for the next few rides my paranoia will have me being uber careful on the bike :D

FMF PowerCore4 + PowerBomb Header upgrade happening to my Daisy-Su ... 3x3 airbox mod and 150mj to the Mikuni carb... I might also replace the handlebars to the Renthal Dakar high-bars and if there's time maybe insert the relay circuit. :D

That sucks :( Was there much damage?

Not too bad, scratched fairing and pannier, and they're only light scratches so they ought to be repairable rather than requiring replacements.

I have made a farewell video for Gertrude. I have been bikeless for over a week now and am getting major withdrawal symptoms. R.I.P gertrude :'( video will be uploaded shortly
