Sena 10c - I Think I'lll Get This!

I've always been a bit funny with Bluetooth products anyway, the battery on my phone just gets drained like tomorrow. Unless it's all hooked up, wouldn't last a few hours1

I also went with the 20S and backpack on a GoPro Hero 3. Even though I can only get footage at 720p for 60fps, the footage still seems decent and better compared to the 10c. I do think that Sena will continue to improve the camera, but this first generation didn't my buy.

I've got it and am really pleased so far. I've got a 12v cigarette plug on so I can plig it and not lose charge. First time using it I ran it with coms for 4hrs plus recorded for an hour before it died. Sure it could have a wider FOV, but for where it goes, I'm happy and not to mention you can actually see things you wouldn't with a wider FOV.

What's the battery like with just the camera? I thought it was 90minutes?

I'd forgotten about the charge as you go

I have the Sena 10C as well, and have put it through the paces. I don't do typical motovlogging yet (really just looking to get into it this year).

Sena now has an adapter for your own earphones (on backorder for a couple weeks) rather than the speakers that Sena includes. $12 adapter. I am waiting for mine to come in so I can see if that has an effect on the battery life. I have been getting about 2 hours with the camera if I dont plug it in. I have a battery pack I put in my chest pocket and feed the cable to the camera and I have recorded over 8 hours, with a couple stops for a break. My GoPro didn't get much beyond 2 hours, to be honest.

Once I get the adapter cable, I am going to give it a good run and really get started on vlogging. Just need to figure out something to say.

Does the adapter allow for your own mic too? I only ask since they are connected through the same plug.

I do not know. Can't post a link yet... It looks like there is a cable for earphones and for the Sena mic. I do not know if earphones with mic built in will record from that mc. I would imagine the audio would be all wind, tho.

That's one reason I ask, because I would honestly like to try different mic's. What's your channel?

Cant post the link yet... have to wait 4 days...

From what I can tell (dont have it yet, only see what is on Sena's website) there is a phono plug for the headset and Sena's mic plug (same as the one on the helmet speakers. So I cant really answer your question, it would be one for Sena.

This is my first motovlog (with talking). Pretty boring, and was more of a test of the Sena 10C than anything.

This was my trip to US129 and just some highlights of the 11 miles. I actually recorded over 3 hours (had battery in my chest pocket and plugged into the Sena. Could have easily filled the card and had battery to spare with the external battery.

The following 2 are basically the same ride. One with the GoPro on a chest mount and the other with the Sena 10C on my helmet.

Sena 10C

GoPro 3

I recently started recording with the 10c. I have used it for about 2.5 hours at a time and the battery hasn't died on me yet.

Battery life on most action cams is shite tbh. Best thing to do is hook up a USB charger to your bike battery and run it off that. Ideally you want the USB mounted in a position which is easily accessible so that you can run the cable from the camera, down your jacket and then into the charger. Stops the cable swinging about everywhere when riding.

Or, if the camera has a removable battery just buy some spares. But a USB charger is still a good addition to your bike as you can charge your phone on the go etc.

Exactly what I did, only I'm using a cigarette charger on mine. Works beautifully. Will probably buy a battery pack that I can attach to my helmet or stick in my pocket so I can use it for other things.

So did you get the adapter? If so, how'd it work out? Did you still have to use the sena mic?

Have been using the Sena 10C about 8 months now. Definitely not GoPro image quality but not bad. Best thing...slap it on helmet and your good to go. For long trips when Vlogging and/or using intercom with another rider I do hook up a juice pack and stick it inside jacket pocket.
