Ozarks Meetup 2013

It was definitely in the top 5 of all Ozarks meetups!! LOL. Great time was had by all, I do believe. I know it added some great memories to the grey matter. Really enjoyed meeting all the new comers and the parking lot party at the end of each evening brought out some classic stories.

Hurry up 2014!!

Oh man what a meetup! That was great! And as Trinith said the parking lot party after was sweet!
Are the rooms booked and the dates set for next year? lol I'm IN!

Master Trinith... I want to be more involved in next year's meet. I felt bad about the size of our meet and how it scaled the riding groups so I'm throwing myself at the planning gods for next years meet. I would like to lead/sweep a middle speed group. On that same note I'm proposing we also have 3 riding groups. Scenic Tour, Moderate Pace, and Brockstyle.

Prior to next year's meet I will acquire a GPS and a communicator (I'm going to look at setting up a group buy special on a Sena SMH10 for anyone interested). Riding on the Concours will keep my speed in check so I'll be happy to pick a slower speed and lead/sweep that moderate speed group or, if it's necessary to make 3 riding groups a reality, I would even be part of the scenic group...

Sounds good to me. I think the idea of splitting into 2 groups on sunday was much better than saturdays giant clusterfuck. Three groups might be even better, especially since more and more people are starting to learn the ropes. I think if we did 3 it'd end up with Ardell, myself, and Wilks leading the different groups, having you as a sweep in the middle would be pretty great. The front runners don't really need one, but the back pack would probably be better off with one than without.

Also next year we're going to do a better job of informing people just how much energy the rides take. This was the 2nd year in a row where someone was surprised by the amount of time spent leaning. Poor guy was exhausted at the end of sat..

I am actually planning on calling Sena directly in the next week or so, I'll ask if they'd be open to the idea and forward you whatever info I get. I'm looking for a specific model of the SMH10 that doesn't appear to be available from any of the online bike stores I've checked.

I think the heat may have been a factor too. Next year I'm bringing my camelbak. :D

+1

First year out there it was 105. :P

Let me know what you hear on the SMH10... I can buy it before a GPS so Im ready to buy asap or can wait a few weeks to set up a group buy. I'm comfortable with the price as is so I wanted to set something up only as a potential benefit to others.

Liz and I are looking to get a pair ourselves. I'd be better off if I could get them cheaper, but yeah I am more or less ok with the price as is.
