New Gopro Hero 5!

Just announced, anyone going to be getting this?

Have to say I'm slightly disappointed theres no 4k60 even though it may be overkill for youtube, although 1440p80 should look pretty good.

I may get the Hero 5 session for the 1440p60 and 1080p90, and the fact it now supports external mics! Winner. Seems a bargain to me, even if I have only just bought a Hero 4 haha (secretly gutted, should've waited)
 
I'll be getting both the Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session.

The image stabilisation alone is worth the upgrade, and it is finally a model worth upgrading to from my Hero 3+ Black after the disappointing recent releases.
 
Is it just me or is the possibility of adding the battery back pak no longer there?

What about swapping out the batteries on the Hero5?

Nice! I think considering I've only had my Hero4 silver a couple of weeks I can't justify buying more than the Hero5 session just yet. Think that'll be more than enough for me anyway, 60fps at 1440p will look fantastic. Been at it 2 weeks and spent far too much on stuff for motovlogging haha, I need another hobby to use these cameras for as well

Not thought of that... It's a different size so I imagine existing backpaks won't be compatible. Spare batteries are listed on the GoPro site so they should be swappable as normal

Dang I so dislike battery swaps! It is not like I can yell, "CUT" while I reload sometimes.

I always forget and miss a lot of footage!

I imagine it won't be long before they develop a battery backpak for the hero5, so many people use them it'd be stupid not to sell one

You can charge it via USB while using it just like the other GoPro's.

That's what I do to get a good 4.5 hours of recording time on my 3+ Black.

You can but that uses the same port as an external mic, so no voice recording unless you use an external recorder

I tried tellin' people here that there'd be a GoPro 5 coming out, but nobody listens to old Smoky. Pretty impressive with the features, although I'm a little nervous on the current micro SD cards writing speeds keeping up with the new model.
