I found this guy on youtube, ben clermont or something, he did a side by side of the one x, one r and max. he concluded there was no advantage of the one r over one x. i was hoping the one x would drop it price but it's still $400. i like the idea of a 360 camera on the bike, means nothing will be missed.

Sorry for jumping in, but that's really useful to know now I have a hardwire kit/waterproof case for my Hero 4!

Apparently you can run power to it, you can also do the same with the One X as well. You won't be able to plug a mic in at the same time though.

good deal, these short 1 hour record times are annoying. i was going to run audio to the camera on the helmet and use that for other views.

The problem is, the One R when it reaches max file size (at around 30min), takes around a minute to start recording the next clip, so you will lose footage that you may need, or at least have issues synching up the second video. I love 360 camera, but to me they are only useful for short clips, which also helps in editing as 360 footage, (and the 4k mod footage currently) need rendering into a framed video before you can then edit them into your helmetcam main footage, so editing time is at best doubled

Do it! I have a Davinci Resolve video in the works on how to integrate it into vlogging [motovlogging specifically] wherein it doesn't have to add a ton of editing time, but ends with great results. I love the neat shots I can get with it, and I got some new toys to go with the 360 camera, so the results will be awesome!
