Hello

I have recently started using a GoPro Hero 7 Black to record my motorbike trips, and after getting the brick I can now record sound too. However, when I connect the camera to my Mac computer using the GoPro software it says that the file has downloaded but frames have dropped - something to do with HEVC not being compatible with Mac. When I play the recording the sound is ok but the video seems to freeze and then jump forward.

I have tried downloading directly into Final Cut Pro X, but the same issue arises. Is there anyway of resolving this issue?

My computer is a 2018 MiniMac spec as follows:

Processor: 3ghz Dual Core Intel i7
Memory: 16gb
Graphics: Intel Iris 1536mb
OS: Catalina ver 10.15

Thanking you all in advance for your help

Sadly I am not a Mac user, hopefully someone here may be able to offer you some tips or help! :)

If the PC is not an issue maybe try to remove the memory card and copy that way. Make sure your recording in and transferring an mp4 file. Also the HVEC is dependent on your Quality and frame rate. If your Mac doesn't support it try to find a mode that is not h.265 (HVEC) but instead the standard mp4 which is h.264

I believe 4k/60 and 1080/120+ are HVEC h.265 - lower quality and less frame rates should be standard h.264 which may be compatible with the mac

Many thanks for coming back to me, I will check the recording settings on the camera.
