I have the Sony FDR-X3000 and the one touch recording doesn't work that well on that either. Most of the time, if the camera is off, you can hit the record button, and the camera will turn on and start recording. But every once in a while, if the camera is off, and you hit the record button, the camera will turn on, but it won't start recording. So I still have to look in the mirror, to make sure the record light came on. Another thing it does is, if you are recording, and you hit the record button to stop recording, the camera will stop recording, but the camera stays on. It would be a lot better if you hit the record button to stop the recording, and have the camera turn off too, but the camera stays on, which defeats the whole purpose of one touch recording. So I still have to look in the mirror to make sure the record light is either on or off, and I still have to turn off the camera manually. You would think the beta testers would catch all these flaws before releasing these cameras to the general public. Or maybe they know about the problems, but they don't know how to fix it.
