From the UK so do it everyday, when safe and legal to do so :D

Got to watch out the the white zig zag lines near some traffic lights, technically illegal to filter there, as filtering is classified as a form of overtaking.

You do need to be careful about that, although you can filter to the head of the queue in stationary traffic, and you can pass waiting cars if the crossing is not in use. Or just use yer loaf and don't run peds over :)

I have done it once and it felt good to do, but it's illegal here and the last thing I want is a ticket

Im in texas. I'll only lane split if im in a dangerous area on the highway. Like in between huge clumps of traffic with people riding my ass

Its not legal in this state till the first of September, so my answer is.......maybe.

Solano, California. Lane splitting is "not illegal" in CA. They've tried many times to make it full on legal but it always gets gummed up in the legislation because ignorant legislators don't want to encourage it. I pass highway patrol on a regular basis though and they never bother me so long as I'm traveling no more than 15mph faster than surrounding traffic.

Even if it was legal I doubt they'd let you filter faster than that anyway.

As with many things, if everyone does it sensibly and doesn't abuse the privileged, then they'll leave it alone. If they legislate then you might find a whole set of inflexible rules.

That's a valid point. I think one the of the biggest problems is really just that cagers don't realize how much time we're saving other cager simply by not contributing to the congestion.

I don't "split", mostly because I don't like being between moving vehicles, but also because the roads here don't allow it. But I certainly filter, pretty much at every light. It's hot and I don't have A/C

It's illegal to do it in my state unless traffic is moving less than 25mph.. but when i do get a chance i do it.

I lame split only in stationary or slow moving traffic not while the traffic is moving at higher speeds

I think it's actually safer to lane split at slow speeds than sit behind a car when you could be rear ended

Lane not lame lol

I lanesplit (filter) every day, gets me to work much quicker and most car drivers move over and help you out! If I wanted to sit in traffic all day I'd go out in my car not my bike

I don't primarily because it's not legal here in Arizona. I probably would if it were, but my bike is kind of wide in the hips, so I'm not sure I'd fit all the time haha

Its become even more of a grey area here. I've taken a fuck it and split all the time now.

I don't lane split, but I do filter, Im not sure if its the same, I think its a perception on speed you do it though, I wouldn't filter if the cars are moving above 20mph as some drivers don't look when they change lanes

This morning i was filtering through about 20km;s worth of bumper to bumper traffic.

The raging hard on i had started to hurt after a while
