3 hours is about the same for me . And 10,000 rpm for that long ear plugs WILL be required :/ . I'm fine to camp it out .. I'm used to sleeping on the floor

Mine to CMC is 3 hours, i'd probably be wanting a proper bed after that! (Friz can laugh, but i'm soft :P)

I would laugh at that! Man up, 3 hours is nothing :P

If people want to stay in a travle lodge or premire hotel then so be it I will, I'm just thinking a campsite wouldn't turn down 10riders for say £10 each he's in a win, win situation and were only there for one night.

and we still ride away with £20 extra for fuel.

Just a thought, we all need to decide whats going to happen and maybe find a campsite in the peaks and maybe a hotel in/towards the peaks and get prices and locations.

Personally I'm going to have to put a vote towards travel lodge. Camping would be GREAT fun, don't get me wrong, I've done it on a bike before and its brilliant. While I absolutely love the idea, theres a couple of reasons why I'm not so keen on actually doing it on this occasion.

1) Setting up and putting down tents is annoying, and if someone is not going fast enough (probably me) it'll slow everyone else down.

2) Tent takes up a lot of space on the back of the bike along with the other luggage you'll need for a weekend away like clothes. It'll make the back heavier and riding more difficult - a pain if you're trying to enjoy nicer roads.

3) If rains, it'll just be plain nasty. Riding in the rain is one thing - putting up, taking down, packing away and riding through a field on a sport bike in rain is completely different.

4) A campsite will cost at least a tenner each even if we book tonight. However, we can book rooms in a travel lodge tonight and the rooms are £19 each. 2 in each room (double/family room) works out at £9.50 each.

Just some stuff I thought about.

Oh boy I've just had a look in Google Maps and apparently I'm 5hrs away from the Peak District! :?

Maybe I could come down on the night train and hire a moped! ;)

After a bit of thought , ive decided id rather be nice and warm and the ybr wont move after it gets me and all the camping crap on the back. The "Rain" is enough of a put off in my opinion .

Im fine to get room in a travel lodge etc .. as long as it isnt a serious amount of cash

Firstly like friz said to curly, man up. Thats how long my sunday blasts are.

Secondly, Both crewe and northwich are both £19 an night. With like friz said again, 2 in each room thats cheaper than a campsite.

I see no reason why you can't go 3 in a "family" room to be fair. Just pair up with people you feel comfortable sharing a room with. Keeps costs down even more.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to do either I'd also rather sleep in a warm room with decent beds so I'm not dead the next day, that said I can sleep outside and i wouldn't wake up

we could open up a new topic or a vote topic on here and see which gets most or if there pretty close we can just sleep where we please saves us all falling out over whos sleeping with who.

Also great idea with the pairing up will work, just have to put a act on, can I have a room for 2 me and my.... Guy mate over there in his very tight leathers

Been in that position many a time with quite a few of the chaps from here

We also need to remember that The Peaks camping/ B & Bing is tecnically a secondary meet up.

if were at CMC from 12/1pm - 4/5pm, we won't arrive at the (location of sleeping) untill it starts going dark, mid april it gets dark around 9:10pm and will take about a good 1hr n' half possibly more because of the size of group.

so it's really just another meet and the Sunday is the main riding day & Sunday Night/ Monday Day will be a ride home.

We will get good roads from CMC to the peaks, and from the peaks to Wales so were all good but would you rather ride Wales or would you rather arrive in wales ?

Possibly we could Wake up in Wales and ride?
Or
Wake up close to Wales and have more of a day we might be sleeping a little too close to the meeting point don't you think ?

CURRENT POSSIBLE PLAN
This is frying my brain a little bit, but as i see it, the current plan is meet at CMC on Saturday at 12-1. Ride through in the peaks, ending up vaguley around the Northwich area and staying there overnight. Sunday ride past chester, into north wales. Ride in wales ending up on the welsh english border, roughly near the shrewsbury area. The staying there overnight. Monday we go our seperate ways, because shrewsbury is near birmingham you then have easy access to the the M6, M40, M1 and so on.

Oh and anyone that moans about riding the whole day from early till late on saturday..... You ride a bike, that should be your perfect sort of day. :)

Sounds like all this is coming together... should make for an interesting trip, will be nice to see how many people turn up...
And for all the guys that are saying it a long time on a bike, i agree with Friz... man up!
16 hours straight on a Honda CG 125, to go to the Birmingham meet and i did that with no sleep...
HONDA OWNERS BE PROUD!

Disclaimer
This is not meant as a dig to any whining pansy on their motorbike, it is purely meant as a way to encourage people to get off/on their arse and come to the meet.
Also... I do not discredit other bike makes... i just like Honda :)

I maybe down, but its a long way down the road yet.

Also People Trust me travailing long distance is worth it no matter what bike you own!!!!!!

This is the truth, you will be kicking yourself if you don't come, and when you watch all the videos of what happened and everyhing you will have wished you had came.

I'm sure we'll get a good turn out this thread seems really positive. 6months planning now

That was the idea of starting the thread, a planning so early. Hopefully everyone has a chance to get time off if they want to, and make sure the plan suits as many people as possible. Will hopefully confirm what travel lodge we'll stay at so that you can book whenever you want.

Basically, upon the condition i've upgraded, we can be sure it's going to happen so i can book time off and i have enough money, i'm in whatever the situation!

Alrighty, I'm shaping up plans to come to this one.

If I've got any chance of booking it off work, I need to know if the dates are final (NOT going to change). Are they?

Totally hotelling it, btw.
