So Everyone Agrees to....

Peak District(not sure where exactly , camping site Somewhere :?: )

6th - 9th April

Good Friday - Sort & Confim :?:
Saturday - Ride/ Meet everyone (Camp :?: )
Sunday - Ride
Monday (Bank Holiday) - People won't have to rush home Sunday night (late)

Weather permitting (as was "disheartening" last Easter :| )
I know its months away but so ......

Im all for camping and love doing it... but if this is going to be a "big" meet up, we either need to book out an entire camp site (will get complaints otherwise) or would be better to get a hotel... would only cost like £15 this early

and im sure if anyone has travelled a fair distance they will want to sleep in a bed...

I know bank holiday weekends are great for everyone else, but i work in a pub so i definately won't be able to get it off, will have to see nearer the time if i can make it for at least one day, but it's looking sketchy!

Holiday time?

I'm in a similar place - getting bank holidays off is a nightmare. But with this much time, just booking holiday for 1 days is easy enough.

Can someone that knows the peaks well suggest some a meet up locations, and possible places to stay

There aren't really any places like travel lodges in the peaks. We'd have to start at either Derby and move up or somewhere else like Macclesfield (Cat and Fiddle).

I would rather be higher up the country rather than The Peaks, I don't know if this is the same for everyone I said The Peaks as it's a easy place to meet and everyone would know how to get there, reasons.

For the amount of people that have posted in this thread I'd have thought that the peaks would be a little small. Don't get me wrong if people ride for 2days I'm sure they would have coverd pretty much the whole of the peaks in the first day.

With it being a bank holiday Campers(ourselves) Caravans will be up in the peaks also.

Just a thought and seing if people would, up towards Hawes or Ripon & Yorkshire. Don't get me wrong i'll happily ride the peaks but just seems that there will be too many people and we'll cover too much in the first day, some people might not be up for a 2day ride yea but you want to get the most out of it. so riding a little further up from the peaks meaning you would pass it comming up or going back and then riding around the the Yorkshire Dales ?

Just an idea. the more the better.

Or even Wales nobody considerd that did they? Wales has some nice roads and very nice camp sites, I know it's not the centre of the UK but it's a good place to ride.

?

I don't know the peaks, yorKshire etc. At all so I'm going by what you all say. What does everyone think of this, we could do it either way round: Meet chesterfield side of the peaks, then ride throught the peaks and camp somewhere around the welsh border, riding in Wales Sunday, then camp and disappear off home Monday.

I had thought we might run out of roads in the peaks... You can easily do all the best bits in a few hours. I'm liking chessecakes idea

Yea, we could all meet at CMC? and then start to ride over to Rhosllannerchrugog or Whitechurch/ The Border of Wales. and decide a camp site or find one inbetween now and then and make sure there ok with over 10 - 15 bikes comming.

With regards to the meet location, you would have to come to Chesterfield and then back through pretty much the way you came to get to Wales.

Either one I'm happy with it really as long as it's 2 good days of riding.

CMC in Clay Cross is a really good place to meet to be honest.
Really easy to get to from A38/A61 and M1. Plus its an awesome bike shop with a Cafe.

Yea so we'll call it that then, We meet at CMC ? Chesterfield Motorcycles.

Yeah Thats Sounding Great , Anywhere with a cafe is a Great starting point ! , as long as there is bacon sandwiches :)

Ok, so we're confirming it for the 6th-9th of April. I know its a long way away but can people say if their coming or not, so we can get an idea of numbers. Then we can work out the rough route, so we know what travel lodge/premier inn/campsite we'll stay at. Then everyone can book up early if they want to and save some money.

I'm good with that.

I thought we were camping? tbh I'd rather spend £30 on Fuel than a hotel room. also if were heading to wales I'm sure wales will have plenty of camp sites.

it all depends on certian riders. I for one count myself lucky for this meet as I'm only 45mins away from CMC, yet some people are over 2hrs away. I know some of you might want to just call it a day after a 2hr commute and just relax and then ride the next day.

We need to set a date to meet, becasue if people are turning up the friday and we go riding the saturday what about people that couldn't make the 6th and meet the saturday and don't feel upto riding becasue of the long trip?

I say we all meet at CMC for around 1pm? it will be open and we can all relax there if the weather is nice and wait for everyone to meet. we could call it all leave at 4pm? good 3hrs of waiting for people to meet. and then find a camp site in the peaks and all head to wales on the saturday.

We could even let people know where we are planning on camping as if people can't make the Friday meet at CMC they will be able to find us at the peaks camp site?

If people want to stay in a travle lodge or premire hotel then so be it I will, I'm just thinking a campsite wouldn't turn down 10riders for say £10 each he's in a win, win situation and were only there for one night.

and we still ride away with £20 extra for fuel.

Just a thought, we all need to decide whats going to happen and maybe find a campsite in the peaks and maybe a hotel in/towards the peaks and get prices and locations.

Mine to CMC is 3 hours, i'd probably be wanting a proper bed after that!

Oh dear, the engine on your hair dryer will be toasted by then, 10,000rpm's for 3 hours!

Come to think of it who knows if the poor machine will even last long enough to get you there    ;)
