30FPS vs 60FPS?

How much FPS do you use?

I personally film at 720p with 60fps, as with 1080p the quality doesn't change much in my eyes and you can see the difference from 30fps to 60fps like night and day.

I filmed just recently at 30fps, and will upload the videos soon. Still working on reducing wind noise, so I put an old clean sock over the microphone to see if that will reduce it somewhat. I am wanting to go on the Arkansas Dragon probably tomorrow and will upload that trip on my channel soon at 30fps and see if that reduces the upload time to youtube. I have been getting at least 2 days max to upload any videos to youtube lately. I uploaded one the other day , and it took less than a day to post, so I figure the smaller the frame rate per second, the faster it is to upload to youtube.

Wow, 2 days to upload!
How many GB are your files?
I find that handbrake compresses far better than editing software, so I render from editing at full quality and then run it through handbrake.
On average I can easily take a 3GB render down to 2GB with no noticable differance at all.
I'm also fairly certain I could shave another GB of if I lowered the quality just a little bit.

I definitely think that 30fps makes much smaller file sizes than 60fps so that should make a big difference right there.

Yeah, 2 days to upload. My GB were about 2-3GB and as high as 5GB. once I got finished editing it, and tried to post it. The file that took 2 days to upload was my "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Idea", video and that was about 2.18GB while my "My Vacation Video was about 5.95 GB, and they were both shot using 60fps at 1080 p once they were all rendered. It is a work in progress now. Working on the other videos that are at least 2GB before rendering at the most with 30fps. I havee to adjust the camera angle on my videos that I am going to upload, so it will get better with each upload.

The longest upload I had was my first video which took about 15 hours and was about 3-4GB . I'm gonna try a handbrake encode of a 3GB clip and see how small I can get it with little to no loss of quality. I'll let you know how it goes :)

Oh, ok, cool. What is a handbrake encode? I do not think I have ever heard of one.

i recently played with the 720/60fps but found that once uploaded to yt the compressor does a lot of damage, back to 1080 for me until i get a better camera :P

Most people are crazy about higher frame rates and that is not necessarily better. 240Hz TV's, 120Hz monitors... and you know what frame rate all films and most TV series use? 24FPS.

I use 1080P Superview @ 60FPS. The quality is amazing. I like it because you can watch my videos and not feel like you're floating or trying to look up all the time. Thus was a problem with my first couple vids. Also, with the complex backgrounds here in Hawaii, I want it to be as crisp as possible to maximize the viewing pleasure. Hope that helps.

i record in 60fps, and save it to 30fps on youtube. because if i need to do slow motion having 60fps footage helps.

I've always used 1080p30 medium FOV on my GoPro, but I really like the quality of 1080p60 super view.

With YouTube enabling 60 fps on their videos i think it's time make the switch!
