Review 2015 Harley Davidson Street 750

My brother has been looking at this bike for a first bike. I think it seems like a decent bike to start on. Not too small to ride with me (I ride a Harley VRod) but not too big that it wouldn't be easy to be comfortable on. I am curious though how it would do with minor touring? I like to take small camping trips with my buddies that are 400+ mile rides and I'm wondering how it would handle those for him.

Its a perfect bike to start on. You have a 750cc Water Cooled Engine with 6 gears. The tank is a bit larger than a sportster so if you are going on a long trip you wont have to stop as often. Since it is water cooled, it wont get as hot, and with the 6 gears, he would have plenty of power for the tour. The bike likes to Rev a bit high, so I was already on 6th gear at 65mph, so as long as you dont cruise at 90mph, he should be fine. The handling on the bike is superb. The only issue for me was that the seat made my ass numb after a 45 minute ride, lol...but thats an easy fix.

The VRod is watercooled as well and likes higher rev ranges. We had a guy on a 250 try and ride with us once and we kept leaving him behind not realizing it. The 250 size bikes just aren't built for long stretches so I am steering him toward something bigger but budget friendly.

Yea i know bro. The Street 750 is getting as much hate as the Vrod received when it first came out. lol But hey, at that price point, you cant go wrong with that bike. If he is really looking into it, have him look for a used one. Lots of people are trading them in with very few miles. I traded mine in with 800 miles, so go figure.
