[EDIT] Time to drill some holes in my Sony waterproof case. [/EDIT]

Good luck with that—I can only imagine how frustrated you may feel. Hopefully the next time you post here you'll be telling us that you have a video to share and that nothing went wrong. :)

It depends what you want to do. £50 will get you something that will be able to do almost anything I've ever seen a vlogger do.

Adding & removing audio tracks, adding random sounds, blurring with tracking, adding words and illustrations over video, on a Mac. I'd do £50 if its a once off, but not monthly unless I'm paying something off like a bigger package over six months.

Is blurring with tracking really that necessary? That's about the only one you won't get for that price.
Maybe not, IDK how difficult it is without tracking, I have limited time to spend on editing with family duties.

So, what can I get for a Mac at that price, that's not a subscription?

A pants, sorry I didn't notice you had a mac. I don't so I can't help you there.
I've got VMWare Fusion on my Mac, running a Windows 7 Pro 64bit license that I own. So, what software can you recommend for Windows?

Make sure you don't ruin the waterproofing

I came across a program called Elasty. It seems to be a pretty bare-bones program, but it could be useful. I know that you can do motion tracking, basic editing, cutting and effects, but I'm unsure of its capabilities concerning audio. Check it out: http://www.creaceed.com/elasty . It costs $49.99 USD on the App Store according to the site.

You can download the demo, which is not timed and the features aren't limited—you can do everything you would with the paid version without worrying the trial will end—but their logos will be inserted into your videos as long as you use the trial version.

Hope this helps in some way.

Welcome to the community!

The first vlog is always the hardest, but this community is awesome for advice and support.

I recorded my first Vlog a couple of days back, and yep.... it's definatly the hardest. Then the next day recorded a different topic just to practic... and it was ALOT easier!

So, I now have two clips that's worth something, with separate audio tracks to replace the audio from the action cam. What's next? Help!

That's great to know.

YouTube heavily compresses 1080p video anyway so recording at 1080p and rendering at 720p may be a good option anyway.

Turns out the software is a bit clunky. I also read that the Final Cut Pro X trial is supposed to be a full featured trial, so I'll try that out again. I'm not unwilling to pay for good software, just don't want to get something and then regret it later on. What I want at the end of the day, is something that'll massively save me time on editing, so blurring with tracking will be very important. If I don't do it this way, it just won't last, due to other time constraints, and I really want it to last.
