Helmet And Riding Gear Cleaning And Care.

I thought I would start a thread on the topic of. Helmet and riding gear cleaning and care.

We have all had a bug splat on the face shield or on the jacket. And gear just gets stinky and dirty.

So how does everyone go about cleaning and caring for your gear? Textile, leather, pads, Helmet outside inside, and what ever else.

Any tips or warnings! It might keep people from making a expensive mistake. Or just make like easier.

Like for one I have found a Mr clean magic eraser works good on lite debris on chrome exhaust. And I have to be careful of what I clean my mirrored iridium shield with.

Anyone have Questions?
Like do you send out your leather/textile jacket for cleaning? This is one I would like to know.

For the mirrored face shield I like to just get a wet paper towel fold it and lay it on the visor. It gets the dry bugs hydrated so it doesn't scratch the finish, then I usually just lightly go over it with a lens cloth.

I'd really like to know about the leather! I have no idea!

I have been using baby wipes too.

I use a microfibre cloth on my helmet and warm water. Visor I use a magic sponge and warm water. Gloves and boots I use cif and a cloth. Leathers.. wet sponge!

I asked my Corner dry cleanersif they do leather motorcycle jacket. And she said all the time 20 too clean and condition the leather. My leather jacket is almost 3 year's old so I'm thinking about doing that.

I definitely use a microfiber cloth and water on just about everything!

Use them on everything. Visor I wipe down with a cloth afterwards. I treat my jacket with a leather conditioner once or twice a year.
