Youtube upload times..?

Hello. Ive been uploading a video of about 8 mins for 2 hours+ now.. is that fairly normal? Might i be uploading in a higher quality than i need to?

Try lowering your render bit rate until you notice a lack in quality. Revert to the previous amount and use that.

Yeah try uploading later when YouTube isn't doing funky things. I think that is the reason for your long upload time. Unless that's normal for you...

It was my first so im not sure of normal yet, i will have a play next time i put a video up. Cheers

It's more than likely size of video vs upload speed from your provider that determines the time.

Google speed test for your upload speed, right click - propities you video for size.

Simple!

6 min 720p usually takes me 35-40 mins. Do you have a slow connection?

When I upload using HD files it takes about 45mins / per minute of video... or maybe even an hour!

Sometimes I think it would be quicker to burn the video on to a DVD and send it to YouTube by post.

It took three hours to upload a 13 minute vid last week!
