No way! I actually have a video that is still public where I let YouTube stabilise my video for me. Never again!

If you want to see it and how the effect looks, check this out. It throws a weird border around the video and zooms the footage in and out in a very strange way.

You can reverse what YT does. I let it do my first vid, but then turned off the stabilisation.

Actually, now that I think of it, I think I did do something to "fix" it afterwards as the black border is not moving around like it was when I first chose the stabilise option. I don't remember having the option to reverse it back then (it was 2012) but I think I did find a workaround to improve it but the black border stayed. I really can't remember!

No way will I let YouTube fck up a video of I already spent hours editing. I can tell in some motovlogs when the stabilizer from YouTube was used. It don't look right.

+1 to the no list. I've previewed it with all of the videos I've put up and it does tend to make everything look worse.

I used it once and didn't really see any difference...so I am just gong to not use it. After all, we are moving while we shoot anyways.
