What Is The Value Of 4k?

Seen some videos recorded in 4k...honestly saw no difference from 60fps. I know 4k is trendy right now like anything else I like to wait til all the kinks are worked out before buying.

For a long time YouTube hasn't supported 60fps.

I think I found a setting for 1080p / 60fps which isn't using the XVAC format, so VideoStudio 7 should be able to edit it.

Looks like Corel VideoStudio 8 can edit XVAC files... But I can't upgrade right now... :(

Do you have a 4k monitor?

I think for most vloggers 4k is useless, but those with nice views *cough cough* will eventually want to move to the platform once say 30% of viewers have the TV/monitors (not phones) to view it.

I disagree with you point of view.
A 4k video is far beyond in terms of quality to a 1080 one, even when downscaled from 2160 to 1080.
Dont need to say that in the future the TV's will be larger requiring the use of high definition clips.
Of course you gotta have a nice H/W and a lot of storage to manage it.

To be fair, it is in the future now from SwissMotard's post, made in 2015.
I think 4K is now the current standard, although my budget restricts me to a lower level of kit.

Hey @L. Bilious have you thought about upscaling? It is what I and @R-Rated do, I record at 1080, then upscale it to 4k when rendering. When I then upload the video to YouTube, it thinks it is a real 4k video so gives the better VP9 codec allowing for the full bitrate of your video with no compression.

Adobe Premier Elements 14.
Ahh, I'm not familiar with it so can't give pointers. You should have an option before clicking "export" or "render" to adjust the resolution, the GoPro Hero 5, 6 & 7 generally record 1080/60 at around 45,000kbps so use that as the bitrate, and up the resolution from 1920 x 1080 to 3840 x 2160. It shouldn't take any longer to render than if you did it at 1080 with the same bitrate as it is pretend 4k, but when you upload that onto YouTube it will not compress it and even if viewed in 1080 by your audience it'll still look better than if you uploaded it directly at 1080.

What does it show as? Do you use image stabilisation? On the GoPro it crops the footage 10% with stabilisation on, but only on the higher resolutions, think 1080 is left at 1080 though
