What Is The Coldest Weather You Have Ridden In?

I still can't help but think that the cold would still find a way to penetrate the layers no matter what though, it always seems to. haha

When fully kitted out for winter it's more about keeping your core body warmer than your extremities. In that case I'd have a base layer, vest, t shirt, top, hoodie, and my leather jacket with it's thermal liner on top.

The key is many thiner layers that don't constrict bloodflow, as constricting bloodflow will make you even colder.

So basically you need a nice pair of long johns (or two), a good balaclava and just good layers all around and you should be good. I still can't help but think that the cold would still find a way to penetrate the layers no matter what though, it always seems to. haha
In the worst weather I wear my winter motorbike pants with the lining in, with long johns and jeans underneath and it's still like ice! :') balaclava's are essential though, they make such a difference!

He knows what he's talking about  you know the struggles all commuters face!

I ride year round in England, no matter what the weather. And allot of my riding is late at night, so way below 0 degrees! All part of the fun though, get wrapped up and get stuck in ;)
It never really gets cold in the UK though so you can do that, no chance you can so it all year in most of central Europe in -20C and below :(

It's not too bad here to be honest, it's rideable. At -20 I'd have to jump in my car, does it really get that cold in Switzerland? :o
