What Have You Done To Your Bike Today?

Installed my new exhaust today. Exhaust options for the Multistrada are somewhat limited (and therefore expensive). Decided I didn't really want the hassle & expsense of going for a full system so got a LeoVince Slip-On. (also I needed something that didn't stop the panniers from fitting).

May go for a decat later, but again it's more hassle/expense to have it remapped etc etc.

Today I fitted a brake light modulator:

And removed the rear wheel splash-guard to clean up the look at the back end a bit:

Whoa, never knew the brake light modulator was so simple to install!

Most of them are wire-in type, where you have to tap-in to the wiring on the brake light, so they are SLIGHTLY more difficult than this one. But even those only take a couple of minutes.

This one is slightly more expensive but it's plug-n-play. You choose what type of bike it's for when ordering and they give you the correct connectors so you just connect it straight in.

Hardest part of the job was pushing all the wiring back in place while re-attaching the lower tail section :)

Changed the oil filter, oil, cleaned everything because I have been riding in the rain. Also found out the chain is worn out.
Time to buy a new transmission and I can't decide between ebaying the OEM kit or go aftermarket. I have a huge dislike for aftermarket parts and aluminium sprockets but the OEM is harder to find online and in my country is non-existent.

Here, take it up to the last drop.

So...my father died a few weeks back and between the family stuff, work, and school, I haven't had much time to work on the bike. However, yesterday I finally got around to some of the work I needed to get done.

Did an oil change yesterday and installed a K&N filter - and geez, I'm not looking forward to doing it again. Between the centerstand, bellypan, and sump, there is very little room down there to maneuver. Pain in the heiney, but got it done.

Also, yesterday I ran to the shop and had the ECU flashed for an off-road (race) tune. This was to get the engine tuned for today's work -

Remove tank, open airbox, retrieve snorkel:

Observe one end of the snorkel is completely blocked off on one end for some crazy emissions regulation reason.
Then proceed to open chop the snorkel open to allow double the airflow to the airbox.

Reinstall the snorkel and drop in a K&N air filter.

Then put it all back together and enjoy the deeper intake sound and power increase due to increased O2 and ECU flash.

Next step - figure out which exhaust to buy. When I install the new exhaust I'll remove the CAT allowing for even free flowing air. At that time, i should have a Tiger with the same amount of power of a Speed Triple.
