Yeah, so I was building again and this is what I came up with for motovlogging with a modular helmet:

I've made the coiled wire myself, but I still need some wire clips to keep it from flapping at 200km/h.
Weight is OK, balanced, as it should be. The Anker weighs around the same as all the other things :)
Everything is mounted with double sided tape, but I've made my own mounting plates with thermoformed plexiglass and sugru. They stick so good, and the fitment is nearly perfect :)

Seems like you have it sorted out. I would of been tempted to use dual lock (velcro basically) so I could take things off to give them a clean,, charge etc but each to their own. As long as it stays on happy days eh?

It keeps it so much tidier if you run external audio.... I've snapped too many mic cables though taking off me lid and forgetting to detach the mic!

Ouch, that sounds expensive!
I only use cheap mics as I find they work better as an in helmet microphone, so not a huge cost, but it does ruin a video if I can't record any helmet audio.
