I will tell you that the yamaha will not hold a lone as well as the other two. It tends to be more concerned with doing wheelies. Triumph nicer looking as wellKTM 790 Duke
Triumph 765 Street Triple RS
Yamaha MT-09 SP

=]a lone? what do you mean?
The Trumpet does look to be a better bike on paper, although is quite a lot more money than the KTM 790Get the Triumph. Get out and enjoy it.
The 790 won't be available anytime soon right? Also the Street is probably closer priced to a Z900, in fact you can look at a Z900 it's good for the shorties. But the suspension can feel a little soft though. The Trumpet does look to be a better bike on paper, although is quite a lot more money than the KTM 790
What model ducati?I've been offered the first bike from my local dealers for the 790 Duke (they are £8,500). I'd be looking at the Street Triple RS if I went Triumph (which is £10,100). Fortunately in the UK we have a few dealerships and I have two local to me with a friend who works in one of them so I'd not be too concerned about dealer support.
I'm also not in a rush to buy as it is winter in the UK now, would wait until Spring which would allow me to sell my Ducati hopefully too.
It is a 2008 Sport Classic Biposto in black, kinda rare and looks beautiful. I'm too short for it though and struggle in traffic. What model ducati?
Have you consider the Suzuki 750 GSX?Soz, should have said, I don't want a big bike, looking at between 600-900cc and not a tourer.... I want to be able to munch miles, but I travel light so don't need bags!
The MT-10 was on my radar for a while though, I tried taking a demo on one a year ago and every demo bike at all the dealers around me were broken which put me off a bit (it was crash damage not due to unreliability) but it is still quite a big bike.
Am not really a fan of lowering bikes either as it affects the weight distribution, the steering geometry and relative wheelbase which all reduce how well it would handle.
Triples are a great road engine, inline 4s are good track engines so I like where you are thinking kinda, maybe I should have a look at the MT-09?
I borrowed a mates a while ago and although the engine is powerful, I didn't gel with it. Good suggestion thoughHave you consider the Suzuki 750 GSX?
Has a low and comfortable seat, Naked style like the street triple
