What Are You Going To Do In Your "off Season?"

JoshAFJ

Because Motorcycle
I always try to ride as much as I can but once it starts getting around 50 degrees F out (10 C) that's getting a little too cold for me and I typically pack it up for the winter. If there's a nice day here or there I will ride though.

Now with starting motovlogging I am curious as to what you do in the long amount of time you may not ride in the colder months. I am trying to build up some content to be able to post, but at the same time I hate to build up so much stuff in order to keep up on a schedule because the content might feel late or not as fresh.

What do you all do in your "off season" if you have one. Or do you ride year round? haha

50?!?

Well, my cutoff is 19°F as long as there is no ice on the roads. Around here, that means nearly all year riding.

But some ideas I have been toying with in case we get a blizzard here:

- Need to do a real world review of my Shark Evo One.
- Year in review clips
- Tech/mod/mantainence video

- Then there is me riding my son's Yamaha TTR90. Picture bear in the circus.

Yea I guess I'm a wuss :P

I ride in sub 50 temps, but much colder and I'm outta there haha

I really do want a project bike to work on, but it all depends on money.

Nah, you are not a wuss. My HOG chapter, like many riding clubs, do not do group rides if it is below 50° or more than 50% chance of rain.

I am just not normal. Or is it I am addicted?

Heck, today I had to whip out the leather jacket and put up the mesh! 71° here in Nashville and it will be in the 50's tonight.

I guess you are addicted, but it's a a great addiction to have!

A friend of mine rides year round through the snow, sleet, ice, and blizzards. I don't know how she does it, but she does.

If she is close, maybe you could do a vlog episode finding out her methods.

Art stuff, most likely, also some snowmobile vlogs maybe. We'll see.

As far as temps go, I expect them to stay under freezing from mid-december to mid-april, so no riding unless the roads are dry and the salt has been cleaned off. Could be as late as march.

Snow mobile vlogs would be awesome! Never ridden one myself but one day I would like to! Salt is also a huge problem for me as well.

Continuing learning wheelies or circles at the little asphalt thats free from ice =) when snow comes it's fiddy 110cc vlog time and/OR spiked tires on stuntbike and go on a frozen like and have fun =)

I knew someone would say that!

Spiked tires on ice is on my bucket list of things to do before I die. Seems super fun. Also....learn how to wheelie.

same here, was gonna do it last year but was so quick winter and bike completely in small pieces

I'm in NC so weather does not get too bad in terms of snow, but it can happen at times. I do have gopros that I can mount in my car and go for vlogs that time of year, but honestly I would rather be on 2 wheels lol
I always however have a buffer of episodes for any of my YouTube channels in case something goes wrong or I can't record that week.

In Switzerland it will be practically impossible to ride. I bought myself a China Fairing, so I will spend some time trying to mount it. lets see how that works out :)
Also, on 5 days a year I run a Christmas hut at a Christmas market, just to keep me busy :)

Skiing vlogs? going sideways in the slopes and pulling mad flips in the jumps while talking about the consequences of relying too much on foreign resources as a developed nation.

I am really interested what others have in mind during off season. My cutoff is 49°F and below since I do not have heated gear. And, even if I did have heated gear, I am not sure if it is enough to get me on my bike. If I had a dual sport, with a large windscreen, yes. A sportbike no.

I do know people who ride 365 in the Pacific Northwest, though! Kudos to those who do!
