Hello everyone, brand new motovlogger here with a new youtube channel using a new GoPro Hero 8 (my first GoPro!) riding a 2018 Goldwing DCT Tour. Still got tons to learn, most likely the hard way too! That's why I just joined here, figured it couldn't hurt to learn from others doing the same.

Here is a pic of my Wing:

How do you like the DCT? I think I like manual too much but I have heard the DCT beats it.
+1 would love to know how it is on such a large engine
I've ridden an NC DCT and it was buttery smooth, I really really liked it especially for everyday.

In all honesty, I freaking love the DCT! Totally didn't expect to but one mile into the first test ride I was shocked at how nice it was. The third test ride where I was able to put 200 miles on one in a day sold me completely. I bought my Wing a day later.

I've been riding for over 30 years shifting the standard way but I don't think I'd like to ever go back now, the DCT makes riding much more fun to me. It shifts effortlessly, it makes city riding so much nicer, and I can still put it into manual mode whenever I want to as well.

The real surprising benefit is how it frees my mind to focus on the road more. That might sound strange but its something I noticed on the first test ride. I always thought of shifting with the clutch+foot as muscle memory, but after riding the DCT I realized just how much mental capacity manual shifting actually takes that I just never realized before.

And yeah when I put the Wing into Sport mode the DCT turns the bike into a rocket. It pulls like a Tesla, no lie!

I'd suggest everyone test ride a Honda DCT just to experience it.

Awesome it suits you so well mate. I've heard that the Goldwing DCT was fantastic. I had a go on an NC750 DCT but was quite underwhelmed by it as it wasn't very involving to ride. I think if I commuted or rode in the city it would have been ideal though.
