I normally just use Movie Maker - KISS.
Before I give the long boring story, here is the problem: When I edit a MOV file from my Contour, VideoStudio produces an output file that stutters. It's like a .25 second of each second of video is missing. The audio is fine, but the video just stutters along. Could be useful, but it's hardly the way to get people to watch my stuff. Anybody know if there is something I can do with VideoStudio to get it to render the editted video correctly?
However, I might eventually someday perhaps maybe want to do something more than MM can do. Say put 1 video inside of another or mix audio. I've used VideoStudio in the past and was able to upgrade to the latest cheaply. This weekend I editted up 2 videos from the Contour and both had the stutter thing occur. The output is unwatchable. I've checked to see if there are updates needed and found nothing. Corel's tech support is useless. Just getting the stupid thing to load a MOV file required copying a friggin quicktime DLL to the windows directory (stupid stupid stupid).
I'd love to get a fix for VideoStudio, but I'm afraid the fix involves an uninstall of VideoStudio and an install of Adobe Premiere. That will suck and not happen until I actually need something beyond what Movie Maker does.
TIA
