Vegas 12 Timeline Black

Hey everyone, spent a few hours tonight editing a wee short video no longer than 80secs. Spent ages trying to blur out peoples faces. Got everything looking great, rendered it and it turned out black! Not only that the files on the timeline are now black! Is there anyway to fix this. Tried googling and installing ye olde Quicktime but not having much luck :( I'm using Vegas 12 Pro.

Help:(

what file extension do you tried to render? Vegas always makes a BAK file from the project maybe you can use that?

yep, is the original file ( the one you made the edit from ) still intact? You could try to render it in mp4 for example to see if it makes a difference. I had the same problems ones and needed to upgrade the codecs.

Alternatively, Can you right-click on the green Track FX icon and select Bypass All just to be sure that one of the FX isn't causing it?

You might have left the blur to all on still =/ ive had it a few times so i just save every now and then to save this happening

Did you apply any media effects? If so clear them off...

I also remembering having a layering issue when I did the pixelation effect on one of my videos. Had to delete the duplicate (mask) and start again...

yeh vegas can be such a pain in the arse sometimes, ive got some blured videos that ebcause i forgot to turn the effect mask off it just covers all the screen

yeah vegas is a pain sometimes, i spend 8 hours blurring a license plate and on rendering the clip the blur effect was not there, took me forever to figure out that i had to change the project settings which didn't made a lot of sense but it worked after
