Up Post Count For Video Section But Allow Videos To Show In New Posts

Ive been wanting to post a video, but I can respect the rules. Trying not to just spam post because that doesn't add to the community at all.
Still also working towards being able to have a signature LOL

Also remove the intros from the new posts, I got to the forum if I feel friendly.

Currently it kinda feels like everyone trolls the intro forum to get their count up to post.

I find it quite hard to post at times. I don't want to add senseless blabber, and only reply to topics that interest me. I honestly doubt I will be able to make the 10 post limit each and every week. I have a hard enough time to make 5 at times.

If there was some way to decipher spam posts from real interaction I would support raising the limit. I feel like raising the limit would increase spam. I like the idea of measuring time on other posts because I read a lot more than I post. I may be relatively new but I really enjoy this site, I don't want to see people abusing it.

I sometimes feel this way - sometimes all the new stuff is something I can't contribute to - like GoPro issues (I use drift) or issues related to some other aspect of biking or vlogging which I can't offer input on. I've never replied for the sake of making a post and don't intend to start to either, so i just wait until there is something I can contribute to, even if my posting video thingy goes on holiday for a while.
It's a tricky issue alltogether, which so far has been handled well, I believe, with the existing rules. Really I think only the admins may know the benefits of the tweaking so maybe go ahead and trial some of them?

Sometimes I run out of things to say on my own posts lol! However I agree with the fact that everything is pretty good the way it is.

I agree with Swiss' 1 video per week idea. If you have more you want to post or if the video is part of a series, ask an admin for approval.

On this one, not really. I try and keep things fair, it is a Motovlog site after all but it's a fine line between allowing promotion and spam really.

The post count rule is a year old now so thought we'd ask, see what's what

Think it looks best not to increase the post requirements based on this.

I don't think I mind people posting multiple vlogs per week (within reason), but kind of need to stop people joining to post up a load of their back catalogue.

What i think would be best and I'm purposely having this conversation here for two reasons

Stop Marbro_za being a top poster
Get member input


So I think maybe the solution is this;

Keep the rule as it is and leave vlogs out of the new posts section. Posts in here will not count as peoples totals, like it is right now. Happy for people to decide in this thread

Promoted Videos will go in the new posts section and also alerted to all members...once. This section WILL show up in the new posts section as its about once a week so not invasive. Posts in this section WILL count in overall post counts as they're kind of moderated videos so I think they should count but happy to be over rided as such

Well the main reason I set up the 'raffle' bit of of the top posters, was because the odd person did hammer their posts, which isn't a bad thing but after a couple of months I could see the pattern . Now the 'rule' is this:

Top 5 posters gets put into a random number picker - Me or Lurch use an online number picker to choose a number between 1 - 6 - The actual top poster gets numbers 1 and 6 so they have well, double the chance of winning.
