so im seriously debating doing this with a pal.

its the Saddle Sore 1000, so 1000 miles in 24 hours and then if we think we can make it try for the 1500 miles in 36 hours for the Bun Burner 1500

all for the Poppy Appeal =]

its in June so half a year away XD i should be getting insured on my new bike at the end of the month and my mate Max just got a bandit so wondering if anyone else would be interested would be good if we could get a small group together.

Nahh... sounds like a waste of petrol, tyre wear, chain wear and time to me!

Besides I don't handle well tired, makes for bad riding and grumpy mood... and mostly un-enjoyable motorway riding.

I've worked out: based on 6 stops for fuel/check-points (and getting a few times lost, waiting for mates, eating, minor break downs, etc)... you'd have to average 55mph the whole way to cover 1000 miles in 18 hours.... which is quite gnarly! :geek:

Bah Humbug!

Good luck if you do do it. :)

Ditto, although I support the cause, personally I think that endurance riding on a motorbike is dangerous.

the way i have worked it out is if i average 60mph it should be able to be completed in 16 hours so 8 hours spear to stop for fuel or even have a quick hour or 2 power nap and as quite alot will be doing 70 on motorways time wise no problems, all down to can i hack it lol

ow and my new bikes shaft drive so no chain wear to wast hahaha xD

A comfortable bike will help, or one of those airhawk air seats. Spare gloves, flask of hot coffee. On the first few hours I think I would try and average as fast as I can ;)
