Uk Mod 1 Test Advice

I like the post about not worrying about the guy on the bike behind you on the test and the voice in the earpiece is just a satnav hehe. Have you seen the the skully ar1 lid Lurch...pricey but i'd love one :)

Thank you!!

Not seen it in person, and not sure about the Skully tbh. I have Bluetooth kits in both my lids but they seldom get used for anything. Tend to only turn it on if I'm on my way to a meeting so pretty much almost never :)

Well thanks for the positive thoughts guys but Mod2 failed! I was drowning my sorrows rather than partying!
I kept it at 30 on a National road, could have swore i saw streetlights on that road but apparently not. So I was holding up traffic doing 30 in a 70 for about 2 miles!!
DOH!!
Re-test booked for feb 10th.
I'm looking on the bright side, that was the only fault i got so my riding is there. I just need to pay more attention to the roads I'm on!!
Onwards and upwards!

30 in a 70 and not sure if you saw lights? Sure it wasn't a 60 if it was on a normal road? (not A road) ;)

Shit happens fella, just make sure you don't do 70 on a 60 ha!

Lets face it, the weathers shit anyway so although you're not riding now, when you do, it's 3 weeks away from Spring

I am such a positive fucker

Haha there we go then, i not only need to pay attention to what road i'm on. But could also do with remembering some of the info that got me through my theory test ha!
Yeah it was a very icy day, the examiner even said he wouldn't have expected me to get anywhere near the max speed limit on that day, but I needed to have shown him I knew it wasnt a 30.... I reckon if I'd have pushed it to 35 I would have passed!! But I figured it was better to fail for going too slow than speeding!
Also... I'm still riding every day, just on a 125 that changes lanes when the wind blows o_O

Don't think a bigger bike won't blow about, I nearly ended up in the arnco on the M40 once on the Deauville...

If it was a 70, I'm guessing dual carriageway with a central divider, it's highly unlikely that it's going to be a 30, just one for the future. Other thing with speed limits - only 20, 40 and 50 need to be marked at regular intervals. 30, 60 and 70 don't. If you realise you're not in a 30, and there's no signs, then you're in a national speed limit, so pick up your speed, shows you've realised and rectified your mistake.

However - do make sure you at least do obvious mirror checks before opening the taps!

I'm hoping it was just a brain fart at the time. No other minors at all so I must have been doing everything else right at least! I'll smash it next time!

So were you holding up traffic then? Seems quite strange for it to be a fail just on that, unless you made someone else do an action i,e brake?

There is no legal obligation to do 60/7o or even the speed limit on any road but year, too slow takes the piss!

There's a section on making progress. I suppose it's a case of if there had been.

Serious or dangerous fault recorded?

That was the section indeed. Progress, marked as serious. But I have just noticed when looking at the form.... There is a 2 in that box! 2 marks against 'appropriate speed' in the serious box.
So I must have actually done it twice!

It's probably not actually that serious, not at the time you did it, but he's got to go on your overall performance that day, and if he feels he can justify giving you free reign unsupervised based on that.

Even though it's not a pass, it sounds like you did very well.

You're near Bumpy? That's just down the road from me. I quite fancy trying a bit of the mucky stuff. Then try some off-tarmac riding. Badum...

I'm based in Castleford and I think Bumpy is in Morley so its 10 mins from me.
You'll have to let me know if you fancy it. Besides falling off it can't do any harm :-)
