So i went to fill my tyres up with air there other day and the air pressure machine said it only had 10 psi in the rear tyre?
I know that is not true, how do I fix this? I also have a handheld reader and it gave the same reading of 10psi.

I guess you have 10 psi in the tire then if two separate gauges gave you the same reading. When I had low pressure in my rear tire it felt kinda sketchy, but it was not like a car tire with low pressure. Visually the tire didn't look deflated, but it was. I'd just go and give it some air, if you still don't think this is the issue get another pressure gauge from a buddy just to confirm.

If two machines said 10psi then it’s 10psi.

Seeing as you’re UK, the bikes been locked away for winter? You haven’t been riding it?

If you have been riding it then damn dude, you’re a suicide waiting to happen.

If you crashed and the police see your under the suggested psi.... you’re on a ban for driving an unworthy machine.

Damn better get this sorted as I drive every single day. I only bought the bike a month ago, but i drive around with my younger brother on the back quite often, so do you think that could be the reason the psi has gone down over the last 4 weeks? The front tyre is fine, but the rear was reading 0 psi before I put it up to 10 psi. Thought it might be an inaccurate reading so stopped and I didn't want my tyre to explode as i remember when I first put air in the tyres the machine was jumping around from 35 to 20 and back to 45. Just don't trust it.

It shouldn't go that low, check the valves for leaks, if they don't leak look for punctures or maybe the tire wall is not sealing properly.

Gonna give you a wake-up call buddy and I don't mean this to be a dick

This is Mark Kepler who is a local man to me, he crashed with someone on the back etc - He is now in prison and good because he's been riding for years, he should have known better. http://www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk/n...hich-killed-southwold-mother-of-two-1-5193446

Are you checking at a garage pump or you got a hand-held one? Go and get something like this, never trust a garage etc http://www.halfords.com/workshop-to...TObFcSUV8CSiO7QtW6PYxf9eVHnKTVgRoCkL4QAvD_BwE

Once tyres start to lose some air, they go downhill pretty quickly due to bad maintenance, the different temps in the air etc.

Are you checking when hot or cold or are you proper para and checking whenever you stop?

A hot tyre will be really different to checking when cold etc.

Put 30psi in it and check it over a couple of days.

Dunno man, I think he['s a new rider - I'd be more prone to say stick to the manual, he wont be riding with experience, cold weather blah blah

I'd say maybe 32/33 front and 36ish back. He wont be keeping heat in those bad boys

Ah mate that's awful, RIP Sue Wright.

Checked at the garage first, then got my rac gauge out to double check which gave the same reading. It could be a valve issue, but that's why I want to get a tyre specialist to have a look. Both times I checked the tyres where cold. I usually check my tyres every 3-4weeks at the garage as they naturally drop slightly.
I was driving a Yamaha YBR 125 for 2 years before passing getting a Yamaha FZ6N 2006 which I've currently had for a month, so I'm getting to know all the problems now

I had this issue the past week, my rear tyre looked fine but my handheld gauge said 10 psi, went to the service station and inflated it to 25 psi (according to mannual) at first sight there was no change on how the tyre looked like but now it feels better

Check them once a week man, it takes less than 2 minutes to do it.

Get a better pressure checker, can’t go wrong with Halfords really.

You need to trust the rubber man, you can get away with it from time to time but one day you’re gonna have a blast that leaves a right mess for years to come

Just a little update on the situation... Took a reading from my gauge and it still says 10 psi (3days strong since the last test). So I decided to go to the garage and put in an additional 25psi. I have to say I was having a little trouble putting the air in as the valve isn't that great on the tyre. Anyhow will check on it in a few days when my new gauge arrives that I purchased online (TireTek Flexi-Pro gauge).
Keep you posted, cheers.

So the air wasn´t flowing inside the tyre properly?

Personally I can tell when the back is low as it feels bad. Mainly sloppy and it just doesn't want to corner. Though you'll also literally feel the road and feel every bump

How much air are you meant to lose from a tyre on average? every two weeks let's just say?
