So glad that i don't live in London (or rotterdam).
I have to film a month or more to get just 1 bits and pieces, instead of 4 days ;)

That's why I started to make these little shorts, people think I exaggerate the amount of mishaps I see in a week. BUT there are more I don't put in because they are not that clear. Like mobile phone drivers etc ;)

Re: Do you Beam? / Should we Beam?

I used to ride with my high beams on until I got my projection LED lamp. It's bright enough as is. In the state of Washington, it is legal for anyone to use high beams, but if you are behind someone you have to turn them down at 300 ft. and if you are approaching on coming traffic, you must turn them down at 500 ft.

It is a huge pain in the arse to keep changing lights and the cops do not like it much either...

Re: Do you Beam? / Should we Beam?

Isn't using high beam during daylight hours illegal in the UK?

Also, it's incredibly dangerous. Imagine you have the sun behind you. If you dazzle the driver coming towards you in his metal beast, how can he see you?

Even at night, I'll only use my high beam on unlit roads. A properly adjusted headlight will suffice for most riding.

Re: Do you Beam? / Should we Beam?

I don't use my highbeam during the day as I thought it was illegal in the UK as well. I managed to drive thoughout winter nights with a sidelight thinking my headlight was rubbish before taking the cover of and realising the bulb wasn't in correctly :/

There is nothing saying it is illegal, in the video I show how I use my high beam and the only reason I use it in daylight hours.

Highway Code:
You MUST NOT

* use any lights in a way which would dazzle or cause discomfort to other road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders
* use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves to avoid dazzling other road users (see Rule 226).

and this weird bit out of interest see number 2 in list...

You MUST

* ensure all sidelights and rear registration plate lights are lit between sunset and sunrise
* use headlights at night, except on a road which has lit street lighting. These roads are generally restricted to a speed limit of 30 mph (48 km/h) unless otherwise specified

Also the comments on the video are a mixture of yes and no, my bike also has a passing light (basically the high beam).

A shorter one :)

Yea not much happened this week, may start to turn em into 2 weekly encounters or monthly as I think people may get bored with the another clip of someone trying to commit suicide in front of a bike clips ;)
