There Are Too Many Motovloggers! Here's Another One...

Hi guys... I can't help but feel I joined the motovlogging party way too late :) Seems everyone and their grandmother is motovlogging these days, but I thought I should give it a try, if only to teach myself some new stuff :p

The name of my channel is actually Ride2Escape (I'll explain the name in a future video, but I think it's pretty clear for riders), but this forum only allows usernames with 10 characters or less, so I had to drop the '2' o_O

I had found this forum quite a while ago and read some useful tips here, but didn't want to "officially" sign up until I had at least 2 video's online. I just uploaded my second vid, so... now's the time to say "Hi!".

Looking forward to reading and sharing experiences with more experienced vloggers. And I might even be up for a meeting in the area.

I'm also from the Belgium, Antwerp region, by the way. Just like JBH, who signed up here recently, and whom I came across on Youtube the other day :)

Liking the blue forks, given you a thumbs up and a sub ;) just abit of advice try uploading shorter videos :p I'll watch the rest later on!

Haha yeah, I know it's long! That's why included the links in the description, though, so you can just skip to the mods you want to see. Future vids will definitely be more "bite size". I didn't even realize I'd been talking for that long until I got home and watched the video, I was like "what the... no one's gonna watch all of that!!" :D

Do you think it would have been better if I had just covered one mod per video? Maybe in hindsight it would have been... Oh well, I'm learning as I go :)

Yeah absolutely, I do think break it down in the future and that way you can also build scheduled content - So say you had 6 mods, you could of had 6 videos/ 6 weeks of footage if you do it on a 1 video a week basis. It's not that nobody will watch it, it's more people have to have 20 minutes to watch it and not everyone has that amount of time when they hit that play button.

Yeah, you've definitely got a point there. I don't often watch videos that are that long, myself because I don't have the time  Will definitely have to keep that in mind. Like I said, learning as I go along.
Welcome, watched and subbed! Nice bike buddy.
Thanks! :)

Welcome! :D

Welcome, some say it's saturated, some say "F--k it, I like doing it so who cares if there's a billion motovlogers already".

As long as you enjoy it, do it! :)
Yeah, that's pretty much how I'm looking at it, at the moment. Not thinking about views or subs, but just trying to do nice vlogs and trying to enjoy it and learning new stuff about video editing. I'm not hoping to become the next BaronVonGrumble or anything :)

Good because BVG cannot be the next you either. Just be yourself...

i saw the fj 09 at the dealer and was wondering about those. any good off road? it has like a iPhone for a speedo it looks nuts.

While some people claim the FJ-09 falls into the "All Road" segment, I really wouldn't call this bike an all-road. It is very much geared towards (sporty) street riding. I would say you can take it off road just as well as you can the FZ-09 (MT-09 in Europe). Which is not very well :p Yes, the FJ-09 has longer suspension travel and sits a lot higher, but IMO that alone doesn't make it suited for proper off-road riding. Now, if you're just talking about the occasional gravel road or dirt road, then sure, it will handle it fine. But if that's what your focus is on, ie. you're going to be doing a lot of that, then there's far better bikes out there. The new Honda Africa Twin, the Triumph Tiger 800 series, the KTM Adventure, BMW GS are all much better suited for proper off road riding.

IMO, the FJ-09 is a great compromise for riders who are trading in their sportbike for something with a little more comfort and upright riding position, but who still want sporty performance.
