Supermoto DMV fees?

Hi guys,

Just had a question for anyone who has converted a Dirtbike into a Supermoto. After buying the street legal parts and installing them, could anyone by chance give me a ballpark estimate on what the DMV will charge for a license plate and all the other mumbo jumbo they will inevitably ask us to pay? We live here in TX, but any ballpark estimates from other states would be welcome also! Thanks!

I tried finding mine on the DMV website but it didn't have a record of my bike :p . I'll see if I can root through my expense receipts from last year tomorrow and find it :) .....

You need to look up the laws for your state...

Not all states will allow you to register a bike that was never originally meant to be street plated, others just want basic stuff like headlight and signals

Fee's you should expect to pay will not be limited to: Sales tax (on the bike itself unless you can prove they have been already paid), all registration fee's including plate and inspection fee...

Again all these laws are different state to state...some are really easy others not so much...

Hope that helps

I appreciate the help Ronin, thank you for trying! We decided to buy a DRZ-SM that was already good to go, so no conversion needed anymore! Thanks Arctic, but I was simply asking if anyone had experience doing it and what their ballpark cost ended up being.

Looking at my receipt last year, it was around $80 registering for the first time with all of the fees, not including sales tax... mileage on that may vary ;) .....

if you call the dmv they might be able to tell you the cost of reg most the time it goes by size and age. thats what i did to find out or if ur buyinf it off someone see if they stil have the old reg card it should say on there as well
