Second camera to have multiple angles?

Well, batteries and storage depends on what you're filming. If you're doing a long ride somewhere you might have a second or third camera, say helmet, rear and crotch cam, although I would probably just have a helmet cam for that. Doing something special like an intro you might want more angles, but if you keep repeating the same stretch of road, you can reuse the same camera, just reposition it each pass, and you just ride the same line each time which should be easy enough to do.

I think 3 is the max I'd work with, but I prefer 2 permanent views like the crotch cam setup.

On group rides I'm considering a rear camera or a frame/fork camera for the Swiss alp passes.

Theres only too many cameras when it takes too long to get them all started to go for the ride. Id say 3 is my limit personally.

I have 3 cameras (GoPro 3+ Black, Contour +2, and Sony HDR), but only use 2 at the same time.....

With the Contour you don´t need an extra battery....it lasts forever......it is nor the same with the GoPro unfortunately....

In my opinion Multicam angles are a MUST if you want to go a step forward in your editions.

Next week I am getting a DJI Phantom to add an aerial perspective too......

Take care and ride safe

Little update here.

I'd got a new Drift Ghost S because of a great deal (lesser than 200€). So now, I have 2 drift Cameras.
The best thing is the remote control : Gosh, It's so useful to have just ONE remote control to start and stop your cameras at EXACTLY the same time.
It saves a lot of times when you want to synchronise your videos. I don't have to clap my hand or something like this, it's always synchronised.

Drift, I freaking love you!

It comes with a cons : I need more storage space!!! :D

Nice choice. One good thing about having both same cameras is that if you adjust the same settings to both of them is that there will be no image differences between the clips taken out of them.

Enjoy !!!

I stole my kids cheap action cam for a few of my rides to get that second camera angle. Its only 720p but it did a great job. I have a second Sony Action cam on order now so hoping to have that set up as a semi permanent fixture for my future vlogs.

I have 2 camera's and I really like it I want to get a third but beyond that I think it is overkill (at least for one bike) If I was in a group ride or with a friend who doesn't vlog I would like a bar mount option for him so I could cut to him now and again, just to ad some spice, for me i think my ideal setup would be Main Camera on Helmet, Second Camera on Bar, Third Camera for the action shot on the for the crash guard the tail etc, just for the cool factor. I personally am a Sony fan and I love their action Cameras the AS30V can be had for about $100 USD and is super solid 1080p 30fps and stable shot.

well I'm using two GOPRO HERO 3 BLACK EDITIONS for recording, one camera on the left side of my helmet with a microphone for the vlogging/looking forwards :) :) and the second camera is on the tale of my bike looking backwards...this way I can record the sound of my nice akrapovic full evolution line/carbon and be secured in case of a crash!

Depends what theme your video is i guess, if it's just straight vlogging then i' go 2 max! In my case we try get as many cams up and running to get as many angles and not get the same POV the entire time. That being said i,m more pro cinematic to just normal vlogs.

I do think in a vlog, seeing the rider is nice, but doesn't make it more watchable, that's down to the topic and the pace. Multiple angles and cutting between would add, as long as it wasn't ott.

I like too see the rider a few seconds when he talks, it's like a "normal" conversation.
But all the time, it's so damn boring!

I have too many cameras, aha i usually try get one on another bike in group rides adds abit of fun :)

thats awesome, i need to get some folks here to do that,

I started my car vlogging with a HDR-AS15. Then I graduated to a HDR-AS100. And then I changed the way I vlogged by doing a face reveal. One camera is pointed at myself (which is the lesser quality HDR-AS15) and one that is pointed forward to show the traffic when relevant (or I jump cut).

Honestly, if you have the money I'd upgrade. It's always nice to up the quality of your setup!
