Well, I ran the NYC marathon a few weeks ago. Picked up my GoPro with the chesty at mi24, I was so delusional I couldn't figure out the straps and my GF had to help me with it LOL
I did also use a non powered external MIC which did pretty good! I will be doing some more experimenting with this one as the Audio Technica has shot up in price recently. Its nice they include an adapter with this but it fits WAY too loose in the USB port (at least in my Hero3 which has been used with the GoPro branded adapter since new)

Obviously the biggest issue while running is stabilization! I tried running the Sony Stabilize in Vegas but it looked horrible so I figured the raw experience would be best.
I do wonder if you could mod the chesty to hold one of those 3axis motor driven stabilizers...
