Running Red Lights!

Not sure of the whole story here but generally at a red light, you stop until it changes to green. No reason for discussion. Its the law.

However, if you are on a properly marshalled run such as an organised charity run, as this looks like it is, the road ahead will more than likely have been organised to account for bike riders coming through lights, junctions etc so (as long as it is safe to do so) am not sure why anyone stopped.

The only exception to this would be somewhere where there may be a camera in operation that you would struggle to justify if not under police supervision, then I would play that by ear.

Exactly, it is all in the description, which you would have missed with it being posted on here I see :P

I'll save anyone else making a tool then by adding this from the YT video

Before anyone Trolls this video. This was an organised event with marshals in charge of the traffic flow, all maneuvers were conducted safely and adhering to the law. Honestly officer!

Interesting though as it leads me to ask why anyone stopped at the red light in the first place – and that last sentence? No comment! :o

at the start you see the two marshals :P

at the other end of the tunnel when we stop you can just about see the other marshal, I have worded it in a way to be entertaining :P I can provide further ride footage of the marshalling if required :P

Its cool fella - didn't mean to dissect it - just the title is a bit deceiving.

Organised rides like this are always fun though. I'm looking at doing one this year for Prostate Cancer through Bikething (click my sig banner) or clicking HERE

Anyone interested should keep an eye out.

Unless the marshals are police officers, traffic officers or traffic wardens who actually hold up other traffic and beckon you through, you MUST stop at a traffic light that is not green. The Highway Code is very clear on this and makes no allowance for going through a red light under any other circumstances (even if there is an emergency vehicle behind you trying to get through!).

Not to divert the discussion, but one time some soccer mom berated me for all of my riding buddies running a stop sign. Of course, I stopped, and she gave me a "No-no-no" gesture..

I almost gave her the finger. :|
